I have been thinking about this a lot too. All these posts with 2nd timers going into labor at 37-38 weeks gives me hope. I can't wait to meet our baby! dd was born at 38.5
Labor 1 (I was 28) Went naturally at 40w2d. Labored at the hospital for about 8 hours, pushed for an hour and had a small tear. Recovery was ok.
Labor 2 (I was 32) Induced at 40w6d. Took about 8 hours to get to a 10, pushed for 20 minutes, no tearing. Recovery was easy.
Labor 3 (I was 36) Induced at 39w6d. Took about 3 hours to get to a 10, pushed for 8 minutes, no tearing. Recovery was the easiest of the three. Went home after just 24 hours.
Did you go into labor earlier/later/about the same time (weeks gestation) as your first? 6 days earlier, DS was 6 days late, and DD was born on her due date
Spontaneous or induced? spontaneous for both of them
Length of each labor? 10 hours for DS, barely 5 hours for DD
Were they similar, or any significant differences in general? They were somewhat similar, Med-free, spontaneous births. I was nauseous for both of them. But DD was a lot lower, progressed faster and was easier to push out. I pushed for 3 hours with DS and only pushed for 11 minutes with DD (so much better!!)

Both kids were born at 39 weeks exactly.
Both spontaneously
First 27 hours. Second 12.
My first labor was a breeze. Second was not ha. It was harder and more painful but he was malpositioned, bigger, and born in the caul with an elow by his head
They were all around 38/39w, but I was induced 2 out of the 3 times. First labor was 3 hours, 2nd 4 hours, 3rd 90 minutes. I didn't have to push more than twice for any of them. I guess they were pretty similar.
My first was spontaneous at 39+2, 4 hours total, only 23 minutes from L&D admission to delivery. Med-free, and a first degree tear. Pretty ideal, except that I was GBS+, so fuck. Hobbes wound up in the NICU for a couple days. That part was scary, and something I'd like to never do again. I'm not sure how to ensure that with how fast I am likely to deliver.
First on due date. Second three days late. Both spontaneous Second much faster. Much. Only about an hour of hard labour and pushing. Third degree tears with both. Easier recovery and bfing with second

First was at 40w5d. Water broke on its own, 14 hour labor and four hours pushing.
Second was significantly easier. Labor started at 39w5d. 12 hour labor with only 20min pushing.
Pain levels were much more manageable the second time around too. I didn't get my epidural until just before they broke my water at 7cm, whereas I was begging for one at 4cm the first time.
Both of my girls were born a little bit early (DD1 came 12 days before her due date, DD2 came 10 days early); neither were induced. DD1 was born after 14 hours of labor and DD2 after four.
With DD1, I had some odd feeling contractions (like cramps with back pain, but not terribly painful) and went to the hospital just to be on the safe side. The doctor confirmed I was in labor; I got my epidural about five hours later, and my water broke at some point after I'd had the epidural. I never really felt any regular contractions. DD1 was born six hours after I got the epidural, following two hours of pushing. I had a second degree tear and was in pain for the first week or two, and didn't feel normal on a regular basis until 8+ weeks post partum.
With DD2, my water broke at 2:15 AM. I hesitated to go to the hospital right away, since it meant calling BIL to come stay with DD1 and I wasn't having any sort of regular contractions (they were maybe 20 minutes apart and not at all painful). I went to the hospital anyway, and didn't start having regular contractions until 5 AM. The contractions started getting painful at 6 AM and DD2 was born at 6:50 AM, following three pushes. I also had a second degree tear but recovery was much smoother; aside from some cramping while nursing, I felt pretty good within a few days.
Did you go into labor earlier/later/about the same time (weeks gestation) as your first? I had my son one day after the gestation of my daughter.
Spontaneous or induced? Spontaneous both times. The first time my water broke and then contractions started. The second time it broke at the hospital.
Length of each labor? With DD is was 10 hours from water breaking to baby in my arms. With DS it was 4 hours from first contraction to baby in arms.
Were they similar, or any significant differences in general? With my first I pushed for almost 3 hours, tore badly, and needed a lot of stitches. With my second I pushed for less than an hour, I barely tore, and only needed like 3 stitches.

Went into labour spontaneously with both, around 10 days late.
Everything else is different.
Ds1 was a 27 hour labour (he was sunny side sideways), needed a vacuum extraction after 1.5hrs of pushing, I tore badly, and I felt fit as a fiddle about 10mins after he was out (other than being exhausted) .
Ds2 was a few hours of hmmm, I feel kind of crampy, is that sweep from earlier working? Let's eat pizza. Followed by 1hr of THIS BABY IS COMING almost didn't make it to the hospital. Out in 2 pushes. Barely tore. I was too shakey to hold ds2 until 30+ mins later and could barely be upright for several days because I couldn't breathe (it's like my diaphragm got displaced). It was weird.

A was born on her due date. I had horrific back labor. Labor was fairly quick until it was time to push. Her head was turned, so I pushed for almost 5 hrs with no pain meds other than lidocaine during the vacuum extraction. She swallowed meconium and was rushed to the nicu.
I felt great when I was in labor with M the day before his due date. I spent the morning walking around, in the shower, and hanging out with A on the labor ball. We had childcare complications, so when my friend got there we raced out the door. My water broke 10 minutes after I got to the hospital. I was ready to push soon after. M was born 26 minutes after my water broke. I caught him, and was the first person to hold him.
DS-induced at 37w due to PreE, started pitocin at 11pm and contractions got bad around 8am. He was born at 2pm and they had to break my water for me. This was all endured with the help of an epidural that left me like Jello. I was on magnesium for a day and wasn't allowed to eat for almost 2.
DD1- 38w3d, I started having cramping and contractions. We drove an hour to the hospital where they tried to send me home but just made me walk for 2 hours. I went back up to L&D and had dilated more so they kept me (it was around 9am?), I was given pitocin for a stalled labor sometime later in the day, they broke my water and she (surfed out) was born at 8pm.
DD2- I was scheduled for induction and arrived at 8am, pitocin by 10am, baby by 2.
DD3- Dreamt I was having contractions (It wasn't a dream), I woke up to get the kids ready for school and felt them. I told DH I thought they would send me home if I went to the hospital but that we could get the kids to school and go. It quickly got worse and I felt water leaks but we dropped the kids off. Got to L&D and was functioning, they took us to a room and i asked to use the bathroom but couldn't get there and back without multiple contractions. The nurse was surprised when she checked me that I was a 6-7 and put me in a regular room for delivery. I had a baby in my arms in a little over an hour after I arrived.
DC5- I am camping out in the hospital lobby after Easter
It's promising that most people seem to have similar time frames. My first went into labor on my due date and he was born 15 hours later with only 3 pushes. I'm really hoping this one is at least on time if not early
