I don't work in tech, but I do work for a large global company as a hiring manager.
I think they should build a program specifically with a local university that is exclusively for women and minorities and then hire interns from that group to fill intern positions.
I would expect that women and minority employees only become more disadvantaged as they go up the chain. And executives can use their sway to say "hire these kids"
I feel like the senior executives are probably not using their influence nearly as much as they can. In my corporate experience when your executives tell you to jump, you do.
So basically I agree that if they really wanted to fix this, they would have seen improvement in who they are hiring.
