Well our condo's current bill is $14,000 for 6 units, so don't miss condo living too much.
Wait.. wuuut?! Explain please
Before we moved in one unit had 4 toilets that ran nonstop. The treasurer wasn't looking at the bills, it kept going up, they charged us $2,000 of interest and late fees, another $1,000 because someone illegally turned it back on after the city turned it off, and who knows what else. It was not disclosed whenwe purchased. We now have s management company and a payment plan with the city. We agreed to pay half of our portion to be nice but the other unit it was assessed to (negligent neighbor who didn't disclose) refuses to pay and is threatening to sue the board. It's a nightmare.
$30-35/month for trash/recycling pickup and water. We have a septic tank so we don't pay sewer on our bill. If we were on city sewer our bill would likely be $80+.
Huh, I just checked the rates per 100 cubic feet and our suburb is more than twice the cost of water in the city. Well, sewer in the city basically. Our sewer is a whole different sanitation bill, so it's all around probably like 4x the cost.
I don't get the suburbs. We spend way more money here than we did in Chicago. That does not...make a lot of sense.
We live in the city center...taxes, etc are way higher in the burbs, especially the newer burbs. They have s lot of new infrastructure to pay for (schools, roads, fire stations, pipes, eat) that are 100yrs old & long paid for in my neighborhood.

our property taxes are so cheap here that o told my husband we can't leave the city.
Our meter read charge is $14 then usage is on top of that. We have septic, so no sewer and garbage is separate.
When we first moved in, our bill was consistently $40+ and I couldn't figure out why. We paid less at our old house and had sewer there.
Come to find out, we have two meters. One for the house and another for our irrigation system (never used). We were paying $14/month per meter plus usage. So with 0 usage, we paid $28/month.
I had the second meter shut off and our bill is around $25/month now.

Ours is for water and sewer about $55 a month, more in the summer when we water the lawn. NW burbs, we pay monthly. We also have lake michigan water but I'm not sure how that factors into the cost.

$320ish every two months for water, sewer and trash/recycling/compost. Breaks out to about $130 for water, $100 for sewer, and $90 for trash.
We're in Seattle - with LOTS of water - and ironically have some of the highest rates in the country. But that pays for some great infrastructure for both sewer and stormwater, management of a 90,000 acre watershed that is our water source, and big conservation efforts. The city averages 52 gallons per person per day compared to a national average of 89 gallons per person per day and in fact while our population has grown by 15+% since the 1990's our water usage has dropped by 30+%.
But it's crazy to me how much more we pay than the drought stricken areas of the country.
Our old town in Montana was about $100/ month for water and garbage. Sewer was another bill. It spiked in the summer when we watered our tiny 50x100' lot; I think the highest was $250 one very very hot summer? I usually have a vegetable garden.
That said, water scarcity/ cost/ equality of access to water is becoming a soapbox issue for me. We live in the airid west. Our new town averages a scant 13" of rain/ year. I'm landscaping my parents retirement house in exchange for a cut in the rent and I'm looking towards plants that will be drought tolerant once established (xeriscape). Bluegrass lawns kill me a little inside.

Water is$18-20 usually and sewer is about $25-30. Sewer is higher bc they are doing all this work to divert run off from the bay. Eta: we have a small yard but I don't ever water our lawn or garden.
