DS had a great night. Went down easily at his usual bedtime and didn't wake up until 5:15 nurse. He went right back to sleep after with no fuss. I'm crossing my fingers he'll stay asleep until at least 7.
I'm going to leave the office early today because my mom and sister are in town. I'm debating heading into the office early since I'm already up.
I'm going to start weaning myself off pumping at work next week. Even though I wanted to go a full year, I'm really excited about this. It feels like a good decision.
OMG I woke up at 12:30 and could not fall back asleep. I think I maybe did around 2, but never settled back into real sleep. Skipped getting up for a run so I could sleep til 5:45. I feel loopy. I have to drive 2 hours to get DD later this afternoon, that should be fun. Thankfully it's my Friday at least!
I am sitting with my mom (who is fast asleep) while my dad gets his oil changed. Lucy slept over here last night. I walked in at 6:30 and my dad was like, yeah, I have no idea wher Lucy is and not a clue when she went to bed. Thank god she's on vacation!
I found her sleeping with my mom. Not that I'm glad my mom had a tumor or anything, obvs, but this surgery has made Lucy less likely to take my mom for granted.
@jezebel, I have to say again that I LOVE this journal. A blank book gives me Stage fright, but I look forward to picking a prompt every day. You rock!

I have the telltale tickle in my throat - pretty sure I'm getting sick. I also went to bed immediately after tucking the girls in last night - 8:15. Ugh.

Me too. I took a ton of zinc yesterday, but I am definitely sick this morning. Stupid winter colds.

pretty sure my house is haunted. Last night the kitchen lights went off on their own while DH was making dinner, then all the sudden came back on a minute later. Then around 11 when we were going to bed the same thing happened in the kids bathroom. Then this morning dd2 tells us her light won't turn on- the bulb burnt out. what the hell is going on in my house

Ugh the first day back after vacation/time away is always rough. The unpacking, laundry, groceries, teaching, tiredness, etc. I want to have one more day off lol
I thought I was getting over a cold, but now my throat is killing me again. Awesome.
I'm at a hotel, and it backs up to the highway which I heard all night. So excited this is my last week of training. Yay for getting started actually doing my job!
Is anyone else having a week that feels endless? I can't believe it's only Wednesday.
I had crazy vivid dreams last night. Not bad, just bizarre. Then I woke up with a kitty snuggling up next to me and I did not want to get up. I can't wait until Friday when I do t have to do anything all day!
Feel better alzi I bet you are ready to be done. Seems like all you've done is travel. That gets old quick! Will there be a lot of travel once you get into the actual job??

Feel better alzi. DH is coming down with something and I pray I don't get it.
Hugs @madgrigal.
And I am torn between feeling sad for my MIL and being proud of my 17 yo YSS. His grandmother is a lovely lady but man, she loses her mind when she is around the boy. Talks at him, doesn't listen to what he says, doesn't show an interest in the stuff he wants to talk about, tries to lecture him, etc. DH has talked to her about it several times and nothing changes. On the other hand, he loves hanging out with my parents. They show an interest in him and what he wants to talk about (even though they have no clue half the time).
We wanted to do farewell dinners with both since he is leaving tomorrow but separately since MIL dominates the conversation whenever we are all together. YSS didn't want to have dinner with MIL last night saying he just wasn't up to dealing with his grandmother. He just wanted a quiet night but he still wanted to have dinner with my parents. I am sad because MIL doesn't get how her acting around him is actually pushing him away and proud because YSS feels comfortable enough with us to say Nope, knowing we will back his decision and not force him to spend time with her. YSS loves his grandmother but she is a bit much.
YSS did have lunch with his grandmother on Monday, along with my Dad since my Mom had something going on, and DH said it was a train wreck. MIL barely stopped talking long enough to eat. Everyone got frustrated because she never stopped talking.
YSS will be visiting with her tonight after dinner to say good bye so he isn't trying to not spend time with her, he just wants to do it with more of a time limit and where he has an out (getting packed to leave) if she starts up with her usual lecturing.
Yesterday my H and I spent the afternoon day-drinking and had so much fun. We bar hopped, tried different cocktails and had some delicious snacks & appetizers along the way. Now this morning I just want to lounge around and do nothing. But, today we are going to see the Harlem Globetrotters. I've never seen them and I think DS is going to love it.
