Best work bag for under $250

As I continue to progress and get promoted at work I need a nicer work bag. I hope you ladies can give me some ideas on a new work bag for under $250

- It wont carry my laptop (I have a black Tumi computer bag that I carry when I need to bring my laptop which isn't that often)
- I'd like it to be more feminine than my Tumi bag
- I do carry a portfolio and files with me and a water bottle since I'm always thirsty, and large enough to carry a days worth of paperwork
- I'd prefer something not black - something more colorful

You were throwing me with the "colorful" aspect until I saw someone on ML post that they got the Patagonia Transport tote and that might work for you.

ETA I don't know your job or line of work you are in but this tote while very functional and colorful may be a smidge on the casual side

Tory burch York buckle tote. Comes in several colors. It's a bit above your price at $295, but I like it a lot as a work bag and fits plenty.

I carry and love the Kate Spade Charles Street Kensington, but it looks like it's temporarily not for sale anywhere (it comes and goes in different colors). 

The Rebecca Minkoff MAB could work - it's on sale for less than your budget.

I have this and love it!  I just switched to another bag for the winter (as my TB is light pink) and am already ready to switch back to my TB!  I've been thinking about getting it in another color for the colder months!

I have the Lo and Sons OMG and Brookline - I think the OMG would be a bit big, but the Brookline has been working really well for me (I carry a laptop but I imagine where I put my laptop you could put files).
