No plans as of right now orher than to Charlotte for the Coke race in May and Thanksgiving. I would love to take the girls to visit my brother in FL, but we'd have to fly and that would cost too much
I know ill be back in dallas several times, going to a music festival in Charlotte the beginning of May, visiting my bestie in Nebraska for a week over Memorial Day, and Dallas and I would like to go to Vegas at some point this year.

Maybe a weekend at the river this summer, but school is starting Jan 12, 8 week sessions, back to back until I graduate, so my available time to travel is limited to weekends. I should be done in May '17, and I intend to take some sort of trip then to celebrate.

I'm growing older but not up. My metabolic rate is pleasantly stuck, let the winds of time blow over my head. I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead.
I'm going to an employment law conference in Washington DC in March. The conference is going to be great, but I'm most excited about DC because I've never been there before. I already know I'll be lobbying in Congress and will be at the postal history museum, so I'm trying to figure out one more touristy spot to check out while I'm there.
Other than that I know I'll be making trips to Cincinnati for work throughout the year. I'd like to figure out a way to afford a long weekend in Chicago, too.
We're going to Charlotte next month to look for a home and then we should be moving the end of march. I'll just be starting a new job in April, so no plans as of yet. Honestly, with the anticipation of the move and settling in, we'll probably lay low until next year. sweetchix, hopefully we can meet up in May!!
I'm taking my kids to Universal Orlando to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and then to the beach for a week with my mom, sister, BIL, and niece. There's a conference in DC I'd like to attend in the spring, but IDK if I can make it work with my schedule. I may go to Dallas at some point in the summer, which is not all that exciting. There's a conference in New Zealand this fall that I'd love to attend, but there are a lot of reasons why that might not work out.
If you make it to Zagreb let me know. I can hook you up with my Croatian family. I'd give food recs but if you are still doing the veg thing none of them will work; the cuisine leans very meat heavy and my favorite dessert treat has gluten (kremsnita) so you cant have it. But you can have Paski Sir...yum!

I might end up in Zagreb for Christmas. My bestie and I turn 40 this year and we have talked about a girls trip to celebrate but she has been dropping hints for me to come check out the Christmas market.
My mom is trying to convince me to head to Aix En Provence for a few months to visit friends. If she buys the ticket I will gladly go deal with the french for a few months!
Longer trip to MA to see my family this winter, then France in July. I may go to a friend's wedding celebration in Bali too, depending on how the job search goes/doesn't go.

Tell me!!! I'm contemplating getting married in Croatia. Haha.

Zagreb- Kras Choco bar (Ilica 15 near Ban Jelacic Square). They make desserts and drinks based off their chocolate flavors and some of them have booze! Tvornica Pljeskavica Kosta is a meat paradise.
Roc- Rocka Konoba. Its pretty much the only restaurant in town. Homemade pastas, roasted meat, hearty sauces.
Desinic/Veliki Castle- Gresna Gorica. Get the zaseka and the fresh cheese.
Samobor- you need to have Kremsnita. Its a local pastry. In Samobor there are a ton of places that sell it but I prefer the cafe in the town square (no clue what the name is; I just know where it is when I am there!) You can also try Bermet which is a local aromatic wine (its an acquired taste)
Plitvice Lakes- Licka Kuca. Another meat centric restaurant. They specialize in lamb 'under the bell'.
Croatian food has two distinct cuisines- seafood and the unholy love child of Italian and German food (roasted meats, sauces, homemade pastas, cheese). They love red bell pepper flavor (paprika) and you will find it as a common chip flavor. Filled donuts with chocolate or orange marmalade are also popular. Walnuts pop up in a ton of desserts.
You can find good burek and lots of pizza. Paprenjak cookies are really good but can be hard to find.

I am going to Chicago the last week of January and then DC in summer as usual. Other than that, I cannot go anywhere . I am on savings mode this year to see if I can buy my own place. I am also in school and that will put a damp on my weekends and holidays.
