Disney Dining Package question

I have been making some changes to our Disney trip to allow for more rest/pool time since I have pneumonia and all. We were able to change some plans around so we have an extra day at the parks now. We basically booked a 2nd Disney hotel, separate from our original package which includes Dining.

Do we need to use all the dining credits by midnight of the day we check out? Say we check out on a Thursday and move to a new Disney hotel with no dining package, then on Friday, can we still use the dining package if we have remaining credits?
