I'm working today, and as a treat I used my Starbucks gift card for breakfast and a chai latte. After work I am going to drink the kool-aid and buy a lottery ticket.
Tomorrow I have a work event in the morning, but then I'm taking myself to see The Revenant. I've never been to a movie alone, so it'll be a new experience to check off the list. And bonus...I have a gift card!

I'm on my way to get a mani/pedi, but I'm stuck at the railroad tracks. This train is literally going 2mph. Where I have to go is right on the other side of the tracks! Gahhh!
This afternoon I'm going to see my sister's new house, I'm so excited to see it! They've been building it forever!

It's a long holiday weekend here and I just want to veg out. I need to go to my parents To help them out to clean the house after some renovations and I don't want to.
Working some OT today. Planning on 6 hours today. It's too quiet in here and my nose is running and my own sniffling is annoying me. After work, I have a little time to start deChristmasing my house, then off to bowl.
Tomorrow we are supposed to get hit with a cold front and then the lake effect snow is supposed to start and continue through most of next week. We've had such "warm" temps that there is no ice on the lakes so we'll probably get slammed! I was hoping we'd breeze right through this winter. Guess not
I just finished running(ish) 8 miles. The weather was perfect! Now I have to get back to my clothes purge/organization project. Tonight I'm going out with a couple of friends, which is much needed! I got a bad haircut yesterday (it looks like a mushroom) and before tonight I need to figure out how to make it look somewhat normal until it grows out a bit.
Im 22 days into a 28 day solo trip and not feeling well, which makes me feel like I want to go home and then I remember I don't really have much to go back to. I hate being sick.
I'm working today (all weekend, really). I'm currently in the document review and note taking things. I'm doing this from my couch with basketball on (soon to be football). My super lofty goal for the day is to get through the entire review/note taking phase before bedtime. We will see.
To the ladies considering going out to a movie alone I HIGHLY recommend it! You get to see what you wat, don't have to worry about comments from anyone, and you can have any snacks you'd like.
I'm in a work lottery pool, but I still need ti go out and get 2 tickets for tonight's drawing by myself.
Woohoo! My new SIM card should be in my mailbox when I get home. If so, I will be able to transfer to a 5s from my 4s (my friend gave me his 5s). My 4s randomly turns off, the sound randomly goes out, and the camera leaves a lot to be desired...I'm excited for the upgrade, lol.
I just took my Christmas tree down, and I'm letting the roomba do it's job... My apartment feels so clean and fresh.
So how does a roomba work? Does it just randomly go around the room or does it work more in the areas that need it more (like high traffic areas)?
Both. You can set it to just clean everywhere. It takes about 2 hours for my 700sqft apartment. But you can also do a spot clean, so it spends more time in whatever area you set it in. I love it. I am lazy and hate cleaning
Just hanging around right now and going to make dinner shortly. Went to dry my clothes at my Mom's house (Story posted on ML), drove to the Asian market for some special noodles that they don't have at the regular grocery store and a few other errands. I think that's something I'm going to have to get used to when I leave NY...not having the huge melting pot of different cultures and access to anything you could ever want. My mother's brother passed away yesterday; he was very sick and it was expected. He lived out of state 40+ years and for various reasons we did not maintain a relationship. The last time I saw him was in 2004. He didn't show up when my grandmother (his mom) passed away in 2013. I feel sorry for my mom because although she never had a close relationship with him, he was her only sibling and my grandparents are gone as well. So she does feel some sort of loss. I feel bad about the situation although I don't feel a close personal connection.
We were supposed to get snow. We got flurries. My kids are pissed.
I caved and took my DD to the doctor Friday. She'd had a cough and some congestion, but no fever. My allergies are awful right now, so I just assumed it was allergy and gave mucinex and introduced her to the neti pot (which she loves). Finally made the appointment because she was really whiny. Sinus infection and strep. STREP. How do you have strep, child? You have no fever, no headache, no SORE throat! #momfail

Yes, that is going to be a huge adjustment not having ethnic variety nearby! And, NYC is the best at that. You will have to stock up! It's cheaper in NYC too believe it or not.

The only drawback....I eat way too much popcorn! I have no one to share the giant tub with so I end up eating all of it! But on the plus side I have no one trying to steal my soda!

My mom indulged my inner geek today and got me a Star Wars coloring book at Costco and a mini Kylo Ren figure with 2 light up lightsaber lollipops at Target.
Girl Scout cookie sales started today. I took the sheet to bowling and sold 100 boxes!!! One couple bought 25 boxes alone! I still have to take it to work and put my own order in as well as my parents, but she could easily sell close to 300 boxes based on tonight and what she's sold in the past.

I've never been without such a variety. Last week I went to the Polish neighborhood that my parents grew up in to get food. These sound like silly things, but

This is a huge reason id have a hard time moving out of Toronto. Everything I want or need is an app away. Literally. All variety of food. Ah!

I just have to keep telling myself that the COL will make it worth it. And maybe I'll lose weight? lol
