I'm assuming that is the large? I was pondering the medium. I have the J Crew Downing Tote and I love it but for everyday it feels a little too deep. I need to be able to carry my iPad, a spiral notebook and sometimes a textbook for school.

That's a great bag! I love the interior and the drop. It looks like it'll go over your shoulder well with a coat on too, which is always a bonus.

It looks like it's 9.5 inches based on a picture in the Amazon reviews. I can double check tomorrow!
