I've been dealing with a workplace-related email annoyance since Thursday. I thought I had it settled on Friday but it just got brought up again this morning. Luckily my manager is on my side and I know I haven't done anything wrong, but it's really irritating to have to deal with this. In a very basic nutshell, I have to repeatedly tell a few people that we don't offer X, and they keep complaining that we're not giving them X. Ugh.
Then yesterday the kids come home, and make a giant mess (as alway) w/ their new shit from IL's. [yet another vent] After dinner I told DH to manage them while they cleaned up. I told them (in DH's hearing) that EVERYTHING needed to be off the floor, and I wanted the LR to look like it did before they got home. They all went up to get ready for bed and I went in... Shit everywhere.
I got a plastic bin (clear, so they could SEE what they lost) and put it all in there and up on a shelf for "time out". I'm not sure when I'm going to let it out. I'm so pissed that DH does not emphasize the TIME AND EFFORT I spend on keeping the house picked up, and how DISRESPECTFUL it is that they do not clean up after themselves w/ lots of prodding from me and DH. When he "helps" this always happens. He lets them leave shit everywhere. Then he was all "why was Nora upset" when she was bawling that I took away all their new toys.
Rage.
I have this same issue with my kids and my husband. Even better is that he makes a mess himself (like dropping food on the impossible to clean floor and refusing to take his shoes off in the house) and doesn't bother to help clean it up. It is completely disrespectful of our time and efforts.
