My quick predictions, sorry the awards show is already starting.

Drama:  Spotlight, Leo, Ronan,

Comedy: Big Short, Damon, Schumer

Stallone, Vikander for Ex Machina

Screenplay: Spotlight (maybe Big Short), Director Scott

We shall see.

Very interesting. I'm not sure what the results mean for Spotlight, really. Will the Revenant pick up steam?

Like I said before, this isn't the best year for film in recent memory.

I wasn't surprised with some of the winners on either the TV or movie side. I do think that the Big Short should have won more than it did - I saw it yesterday afternoon and really enjoyed it. Steve Carrell was really good in it.

however as much as i enjoyed it, I do agree that it hasn't been the best year in film.

I thought some of the winners were very unexpected. I'm hoping that the Globes were just a makeup call for Revenant and Inarritu. He didn't win last year for director or picture.

DGA tomorrow should show who is more in the hunt, McKay's Big Short or McCarthy's Spotlight. Or maybe they both get in, and Miller's snubbed. If I had to guess, I'd say McKay, Inarritu, Miller, Scott, and McCarthy, with Spielberg and Haynes on the outside. But you never know.

Then the big event Thurs. I am hoping against hope that for the first time in my career I may get a snow day. Even if we get a two-hour delay for cold, I can hear them. :-) It's not going to happen, I know.
