Both my dog and cat prefer DH for cuddling and petting. But they know I'm the one to go to when they put on their "fix it" faces (for example, my dog is old and gets cold and shivery easily, so he comes to me when he needs help getting warmed up).
Total opposite in our house! I have always done most of the care for our dogs, mostly because of scheduling. But they definitely all preferred me to DH, to the point I think it hurts his feelings.

I do all the nails, baths, and the majority of the meds and other grooming. It probably helps that I also do most of the play and at least half of their meals- they love me plenty.
