Hopefully this won't happen to you, but my dh was laid off a week and a half before we had our daughter. It was the most amazing experience to have him home for my whole maternity leave. Even though it was scary at the time, we survived and we'll always have that special time together.

Good luck to your dh finding something quickly.

I'm so sorry. Anecdotes, but DH was laid off during the financial crisis, which we thought was basically the world collapsing, but t led to him doing a complete career change which is 100x better than his former job and he's much happier. Hope your DH finds something rewarding soon.
