On a similar note - I remember that as a kid, I thought the world my parents grew up in REALLY was black and white like their pictures. Obviously I was really young.

But she is right, life would be different today if FB never existed. Better ? Worse? The same for some people? But it isnt just a social thing, businesses use it, etc. it has changed cell phone usage.

My daughter was playing with a dial phone yesterday and I was telling her to call me up (toy-pretend) and then I thought, she wont even understand that.
I'm not very old and I'd post your reply. My 15 year old niece has no clue what a floppy disk is. Thankfully she does remember vhs tapes!
I was helping LSIL with something on the computer and told her to click on the floppy disk to save. She had no idea what that was. "The save icon?" She's 17 years old. :-|

There was a tongue-in-cheek article (cracked.com, maybe?) about icons that the current generation wouldn't have the reference points to understand - floppy disk for save, envelope for email, etc.
