Update: My H rocks. He got home at 6:45ish. C got dropped off at 6 and hadn't had dinner. We had PB&J and milk and then when E got here we played Candy Land and Scrabble. Then we played outside with the dogs. I'm so glad he was home to help me!
I'm suppose to watch my friend's DD tonight while they go to back to school night. I came home at lunch today because I've been running a low grade fever all morning and just feeling off. I called N to let her know and she still wants to bring C over. I'm sorry I would not be bringing my kid to my sick friend's house. Her comment was " She wants to play with Simon and Darcy so it's not like she will be sitting next to you the whole time we are gone" Well yeah I get that but I also know that just being in the room with me she could get sick if I'm contagious. Ugh
And of course E has class tonight so its not like he can watch her while I hide out upstairs.
forget worrying about her kid being sick - how about a "sorry you aren't feeling well. I will try to find someone else, if I can't would you still be willing to watch her? We'll cut the trip short and be back asap"

nice "friend" you have there.
I know I know. They don't have many friend's in the area and our other friend who could watch her is sick too. And if the shoe was on the other foot I would have E stay home with our kid and go to back to school night by myself. My parents did it all the time. She is planning on calling me 30 minutes before she drops C off to see how I'm doing and if I still feel up to having her. Biggest issue is this kid is a handful so I'm going to have to be chasing her all over my house all night.
Wow, you are really nice to even consider watching the kid when you aren't feeling well. I would just let her know that you are feeling worse, and that you need to just focus on getting better. It is really hard watching a high maintenance kid when you aren't feeling well.
