I don't care how old he gets. I would pay money to bang Harrison Ford.
NOT FLAMEFUL.
We've been watching the original Star Wars movies the past few nights, and I have just been drooling over Young Harrison Ford. MMM. There is no way Kylo Ren is his son. Worst casting ever.
I don't get people who are fans of pro teams they have no connection to. DH is a cowboys fan. He's a fan because his dad/family are fans.
He's never lived in Texas. He's never even visited Texas! His family has never lived in Texas. They're from NC! There is no actual connection to the team.
I'm like WHY are you a fan of a team you have no actual connection to? He thinks I'm BSC.
There are a ton of Steelers fans where I live. I ask the same question. Most have no actual connection to Pittsburgh/Pennsylvania. Some are fans because the coach is from here, but he wasn't always the coach, so when he leaves will they change teams?
I don't get it.
Not much choice if you're in Canada, and particularly, East of Quebec, and like football. We don't even have stupid CFL for god's sakes. So yeah, we're a Colts fans house...mostly because DH is a Colt's fan. Personally I get attached to players I think are good and then cheer for a team based on individuals.

No one is wrong about the varying levels of outrage based on race and treatment of animals, but I just wanted to say that Ben is from the same area as me, and I take every opportunity I can to call him out. Everything bad you hear about him is probably true, and we've all known since high school.
I was just going to post the same thing but with Michael Jackson as the example.
I can't believe I'm admitting this, but I didn't know who Michael Jackson WAS until I was like 12. So 1997? lol
I didn't really listen to the radio until late middle school and we never had cable. What we did watch on network TV was pretty monitored. I watched like 90% Disney movies until a really embarrassingly late age. lol
Seriously, my birth until the mid-late 90s = pop culture void.
ETA: My parents were not religious! Or crazy! I don't know why my childhood was so weird. We listened to a lot of Kingston Trio and James Taylor. We played a lot of board games. My sister and I played with Barbies until like high school. LOL

Labyrinth naysayers, to the Bog of Eternal Stench with you!
Late to the game, but I looooove David Bowie! I got to see him in concert in the early 2000s. It was seriously the best show I've ever seen (tied with Paul McCartney). His voice hasn't changed ever, he sounded the same as he always had. And I was born in 82. I didn't see Labyrinth until I was about 6 or 7, but I was hooked after that. Such a classic.

For the first three years of my little sister's life, she thought her dad was David Bowie. My mom told her and it just kind of caught on. Every time he would come on tv, my sister would yell "DADDY!"
I want to know the former Nestie that tried to hustle Beach Body to @choco

My parent's music of choice was 1950's folk. We had three Kingston Trio CDs that we rotated through religiously for road trips in my early teens. The radio was permanently set to the oldies channel (50's, 60's and early 70's, lol). I feel you, @this .
And Neil Diamond, and The Beach Boys and Chicago. That was about it for music in my household - I had to get the current music from my friends.
I'm just going to keep my lips zipped in this post. I would end up on so many spreadsheets. Omg. Lol.
What could you possibly tell us at this point? That you don't know who Madonna is?! lol
I know who Madonna is!! I actually even know some of her music I'm.. severely lacking in pop culture/movies/music knowledge. And with movies (really, pretty much anything discussed on here ever) I really have no desire to watch them! Sorry Star Wars/Indiana jones/princess bride (is that what it's called?)/brat pack (?)/etc etc etc.
I don't care how old he gets. I would pay money to bang Harrison Ford.
NOT FLAMEFUL.

....gaaaaah I was just going to see Star Wars on Friday!! LALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU.
Also, I was a little taken aback during my morning meeting when someone mentioned that the people graduating college in May will be Generation Z or whatever. I also got offended when he said Millenials are 33 and younger. Then I had to go looking for this list again:
I'm pretty sure Making a Murderer wouldn't have been the cultural phenomenon it is if Steven Avery was black and rural Wisconsin was urban Detroit/NYC/Chicago/LA.
I don't disagree, and I'm still on page 1, but I just wanted to mention that my local NPR affiliate is doing a series called "Reasonable Doubts" about Darrell 'Diamond' Jones, who is incarcerated for murder. He is black, and the case creed in Brockton, MA, which is pretty urban. They are only 2 days in. I am sure it will not be as big as these other stories, but if yiure interested, it's worth a listen. The stories are segments on Morning Edition, so maybe 10 minutes each.
I need an old persons forum. I clearly belong there. Not knowing David Bowie? Okay, side eye. Not knowing The Brat Pack?? Spreadsheet. And homework. Please watch The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, St. Elmo's Fire, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off immediately.
