I got off BC the first week in June and we are on cycle 4 of TTC #2. Since #1 was a surprise, I'm still feeling new to TTC and feeling overly impatient. I've had inconsistent (to say the least) spouts of charting and taking OPKs, although I'm trying to be better about it this cycle (only on CD 7).
First three cycles off BC have been bizarre - 20 days, 23 days, 34 days. I know that's somewhat normal but I don't think that happened the last time I got off BC (they were not a perfect 28 days but maybe only within a few day differential).
I haven't gotten a single positive OPK (although, like I said, I tested inconsistently and maybe at the wrong times given the unexpected cycle lengths).
I schedule an annual appointment in a week because I am overdue for it anyways. If I tell the above to my OB/GYN what might they recommend? What should I ask or are there any tests I should ask to be done?
I know a few months of TTC isn't that long but if there is something simple that will clue into whether I am ovulating or not I'd like to put my mind at ease. I was really hoping to be pregnant by now or within the next few months just because it would work out better with some work timing issues, etc.
I would guess there isn't much they'll test for after only 3 months off BC, especially if you haven't been good about charting. Maybe chart religiously this month and have your appt next month?

Yeah - to be clear, its not like I think I should ask for a whole work up or anything, I just didn't know if there was something routine that they could do (blood tests? thyroid? progesterone?) to rule out common issues.
No, there's nothing to ask for. Even if they run tests, if your body is for some reason still adjusting to life off of BC, your levels may be wacky anyway. So the tests wouldn't be informative, and would be a waste of $.
