What awesome/adorable/amazing things are your kids doing?
DS: Has been walking around for two days with a baseball hat on and his "wist" (list - a balled up piece of newspaper) underneath. That's apparently just where he keeps his lists. At random moments, he takes the hat off to "dust teck my wist."
DD: Wrote and staged a puppet show for her cousins this weekend. It was awesome. I helped with the logistics, but she directed everything. It was called the Three Little Unicorns and it was about a young unicorn who goes off on an adventure with her friends and her two moms have to come looking for her. In the end, they all end up going for a swim in the big pond, being careful to stay away from sharks. Curtain, the end.
DS: Still fights with DD a lot, but I'm also hearing some positive parenting language finally sinking in! Now, when DD steals his toy or something, I hear him say "I know you want to play with that, DD, but it's my turn now." Hooray! Of course they still fight tooth and nail sometimes, but I love hearing him express himself calmly at times.
DD: Is starting to love her bed and I've had a few nights where I actually enjoyed putting her to bed, which is honestly the first time I can say that in her almost 2 years on the planet. Now when I put her in bed, she giggles, and snuggles in and pulls up the "backie". Often when I'm rubbing her back and singing to her, she coos or says "Mama." in this really content voice. After months of struggling with her sleep, it feels amazing to have a happy bedtime!
I've started teaching the kids piano and they've really taken off with it. Also b and I have this thing where she'll say " my mama" and I'll say "my Becca" "my mama" "my Becca"...its just sweet. She also has hilarious words right now like "tech-nally" and "de-zhausted" and when we left yesterday she goes "have a good one!"
J is reading like crazy and he's so so sweet. He tells me I'm pretty and when we play games he always prefaces now with "even if I don't win, that'll be ok, I'll be happy for you mama if you win, I won't cry." And I was told I made "alicious supper"...pbj, oranges and applesauce. Yep, I'm a world-class chef
I think DS2 might be one of those unintentionally obnoxious people who are good at everything. He's my own kid and I even think it is kind of obnoxious.
DS1's teacher wrote on his report card how much better he is doing in class. The poor kid tries so hard and it is nice to have someone notice and acknowledge his hard work.

.
This is DS 1! DH and I catch each other's eyes a lot and mouth "jerk". He is a sweet kid with tons of friends but he doesn't lack in confidence that's for sure.
DD won a character award at school for the month of December. It's voted on by classmates. Her classmates said things like, "P is a good friend. She always helps me with my work. P is fun to be around. She is helpful to everyone." I'm proud of her academic accomplishments, but more than anything, I want her to be kind and caring. She also offered to do the dishes last night without being asked.
The boys have gotten so conversational and they're both talking so well. They're growing up so fast, but I love seeing their relationship develop. They fight a lot, but if one is upset, the other is right there making sure he's okay.
I'm late to this one but had to share that while we were on vacation for 4 days, ds had zero potty accidents. He finally clicked with pooping on the potty. He stayed dry for naps too. We are down to just a pull up for nights. It was so amazing to not have to do potty clean ups or changes for 4 days. And tmi but so much easier to wipe a butt that pooped on a potty so stoked!

Can he please have a conversation with my DS? This is what I try to tell him every time he poops and then screams bloody murder about being changed - "DON'T WIPE MY POOOOOOOP!!!"

I saw ds's light on last night after dh had already put him to bed, so I went in to say light's out, and he was reading. A chapter book. To himself.
He's been doing awesome with reading lately, but hasn't really shown any interest in reading to himself or even reading to me (he'll read to dd sometimes). So I was really excited to see him enjoying reading, although I did make him shut off the lights after he finished the chapter.
