If you haven't checked out Gothamista on Youtube you NEED TO! She's amazing in her explanations and she has some fabulous videos. Good for new users and people who are really into Korean/Japanese products.
Give me your favorite non-oil cleanser, preferably under $20. I've been using Sulwhasoo and I freaking love it, but that's mostly because the scent is amazing. I should really switch over to something less expensive.

I really love the Cerave foaming cleanser. And it's under $10 :-)

Neutrogena naturals is my favorite foaming cleanser. It smells nice.

Neutrogena natural. Inexpensive, easy to find, low pH, fresh scent.
Thanks for the recs. I've used the Cosrx Good Morning cleanser. It's boring scent wise, but cheap and seems to work well. I want to try the Su:m37 rose stick cleanser now.
How about oil cleansers? I was thinking about giving Banila Clean It Zero a try.

I am currently using the Pixi one and it is OK, but have been watching vids on CIZ and Heimish balm. Gothamista seems to currently prefer the Heimish so I think that is what I am going to try. It has donkey milk in it. Also interested in the Emma Hardie balm that a lot of youtubers I watch are obsessed with.

I use Boscia. My skin is very picky about oils and so far I love it.

I just started using the Clean it Zero (purity) as my travel cleanser, but I think I prefer Clinique Take the Day off balm. It just rinses a little cleaner and is completely unfragranced. The CIZ is lemon-y.
The Clinique tub is a little bigger, so it's not a big price difference.

I've been using Innisfree Apple cleansing oil and it's great. Based on a review from a blog, I'm trying a different one soon - already ordered, just waiting for it to arrive. Illi total aging care cleansing oil.
In an effort to mind my budget, I'm trying to make my own ginseng skincare product since they are so dang expensive. I got those little vials of ginseng extract that are sold at health-food stores. Unfortunately they are water/alcohol-based, so I can't combine them with an oil carrier. I'm thinking about just using it as a toner.

Aren't those meant to be ingested? I doubt they will work on the skin the same way. It's like rubbing an orange on your face instead of using a vitamin C serum. I'm guessing it won't have the same impact.

Yes, they are totally meant to be ingested (i drank one and it was not delicious), so you may be right. I know they won't be anything like Sulwhasoo. But at $4.50 for a box of 10, I figure I can afford to experiment with a little DIY.

Now that memebox is useless, what other website are you ordering from? Besides Amazon, sokoglam and the Korean sites, of course.
I came across a vendor called mishibox tonight, which looks like they are out of VA and could be promising.
I've ordered from Wishtrend as well as eBay. I just check the reviews on eBay - I've never had an issue with a dupe. I think Jolse has an eBay shop.
I prefer Amazon, if the product is available 2-day. With eBay and Wishtrend, it's coming from Korea, so it could be a couple of weeks, or it could be a month.
I'm currently using Cosrx AHA Whitehead Power Liquid. Once I run out, should I just use an AHA peeling serum instead once a week? They do essentially the same thing, right?
Currently using PC BHA 2%...does anyone use something stronger on a daily basis? My blackheads are better on my nose & chin with the PC, but I'm not seeing continued improvement, even after bumping it to 2x a day.

Blackheads need a BHA I thought? I use both cosrx aha and BHA daily.

I've been using Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Extreme pads, and I like them. But I'm wondering if I should step up my actives game a bit.
From what I can tell, the pads have 5% glycolic acid, but the percentages of salicylic acid and lactic acid aren't disclosed. So I'm thinking I'll try some separate AHA/BHA products to see if they make my skin awesome.
Are the Cosrx ones (the BHA and the AHA) the favorites around here?
Or should I try The Ordinary? It looks like their glycolic acid product is 7% just like the Cosrx one. Although their salicylic acid is 2%, and I think the Cosrx one is 4% (?).
Also, has anyone gotten a prescription salicylic acid cream instead of using over the counter?
I mentioned this in the regular randoms, but I'll share here too - Julep cleansing oil is utter crap. It feels like vaseline on my face when I try to rinse it off. It doesn't want to go! Straight up avocado oil comes off easier. And breaks up my mascara/eye liner better.
In more specifically AB related news - I packed sheet masks for my recent work travel, and both nights dozed off with them on my face. No idea how long they were there, woke up a while later and just half-awake peeled them off and left them crumpled on the bedside table. My skin looked fucking fantastic when I woke up. Freeset aqua gel donkey milk one night and etude Hyaluronic the other. Thumbs up to both.
