Hi all! What is everyone up to today?
QOTD: What is your favourite thing about your house or flat?
My MIL came back home from India last night after two months away. It feels weird. But okay too. I'm going to be going to the carpet store to talk to the guys there about measuring for our house (we need carpet on the stairs, a hallway and two bedrooms). Also going to go to the bank, lift some weights and walk the dog. Nothing too taxing outside of field hockey practice tonight.
QOTD: current house, I'd say the size. It's huge (London terms) so easy to find a space if you want alone time. Once we renovate, I'm sure there will be other things I'll love.
Happy Tuesday! I had a meeting and got air in my tires. Such a thrilling day
QOTD: The general layout is really good. It's an apartment, not small, but also not huge. I like that there is no wasted space. Or unnecessary walls cutting up the layout. 2nd best thing is the fancy tech stuff that is oh so Korean. I can see who is at the front door and open it with a touch screen. We have 2 fridges and 2 freezers for all the kimchi I'm supposed to make. My toilet is more high tech than my car and there is a bidet. The entry way area consists of 4 shoe closets. But no coat closet in the entire place!
I need to put away Christmas decorations (I'm slow) and do some cleaning. Yay.
QOTD: The location. I can walk to 75% of the places I usually go in the city, and it's right at a stop on the only 24/7 bus line. Plus it's at the edge of growth from the hipster neighborhood, which means that on one side there are great Middle Eastern import stores, and on the other are all the new up-and-coming restaurants.
Today I'm picking DH up from the hospital after his spinal surgery yesterday (which apparently went well, fingers crossed he'll be pain-free in a couple of months and we can live our lives again). I'm exhausted after spending 15 hours in the hospital yesterday and getting there before 7am today to make sure I caught the surgeon on his rounds. Then I get to go to my own specialist tonight to get something checked out and have been told it could take up to three hours. Yay.
QOTD: Our location is really central and I can walk to work.
Yikes. Glad it went well! You deserve a good sleep after that ordeal.

Good Morning! We're slowly getting back to routine here after DH had been off for a month (summer vacation). So I just saw him off to work and I'm going to get started on housecleaning and menu planning.
I am also waiting on some information about a ballet class I am thinking of taking -- the dance studio that offered adult tap has decided to discontinue that class, so I am looking for something else, though ballet would be a compromise to me as I prefer tap so I'm debating that. And I hear from others around town that the adult ballet class at this studio is very cliquey and if you're not one of the clique it's difficult to be fully accepted as a member of the class. Reports are that if you're not in the clique at least two of the women make it really uncomfortable. I had enough of that kind of attitude in high school, I don't need it at 42!
QOTD: I really like the location -- walking distance to everything I need. And I LOVE the natural light. I have huge floor-to-ceiling windows on every wall in the main living area and big windows in the bedrooms that light the rest of the house. Most days I can get by without turing on any lights until the sun goes down.
