I was reading a book that was joking about how all people have little things they do to "save" money that are completely illogical - like diluting orange juice, but then buying a coffee every day.
I try not to use coins/change and add it into a jar.
Growing up, my dad used to buy scratch every day. Not huge amounts but $1-2 ones, probably whatever he had in his pocket. Anyway, when he won, he would stick it on his bureau. After 4 or 5 months he would give me a stack to cash in. Always came out with a few hundred dollars or more. I do NOT recommend this - Crazy guy!!

I budget for food then spend a lot of money to go out. Lol. I do lunch with friends one day a week, dinner out with dh on Fridays usually, breakfast one weekend morning and takeout once a week.
I love these! I shop at a grocery store where you earn points for certain items, and I totally get suckered into buying things "for the points". So I spend money to earn less money. But it feels so good when I can cash in all those points! Ha ha.

I'm a sucker for when the kid's clothing stores have 'free shipping' promos and I go online thinking I'll find one or two clearance items for super cheap and get free shipping too. And then I find so much stuff I want to buy that I end up spending enough that I would have gotten free shipping anyway without the promotion.
For a while I would clip coupons and buy stuff that I didn't really need just because I had a coupon, but I realized how stupid that was so I stopped and now only take coupons for stuff that I really would buy anyway.

I must withdraw my pay from my pt jobs and keep it in cash in my dresser. It's our emergency slish fund and DD's preschool tuituon. It does not work if I transfer it to savings or another account. It has to be in cash or I'm not comfortable.

Here's me: "oh I need to add a few things to my cart so shipping is free."
I hate spending money, especially on things that I think is a waste of money. I will call my phone companies to see what the loyalty promotion is. I cut my phone bill in half. I do a weekly menu so I buy the exact groceries we need, and don't visit the junk food aisle.
I try to use cash instead of a debit or credit card whenever I can. I have convinced myself that I will spend less money because I can physically see how much I'm spending rather than just swiping a card.

I refuse to pay for shipping, lol.
I refuse to pay for shipping too! I will pay full price in store before I pay less online and pay shipping

This is me as well. It's my goal for this year to eat out less and so far, I'm failing miserably. I even use coupons to feel better about my eating out choices.

Groceries vs. Restaurant. At the store, I'll debate buying a $12 cut of meat for our family but don't even look at the entree price when I order. I'll hem and haw over $10 wines at the store but when we're out, keep those $5 beers coming or how about a $14 glass of subpar wine. Sure I'll have another!

Every two weeks I transfer out what ever $ I have in my checking and put it into my savings, and "work fresh" from my paycheck. It never works out because I always end up transferring $ back into my checking, but in small increments, lol. We buy cold cuts to make sandwiches and I'll bring in a sandwich for 2 lunches and then get sick of sandwiches.

Oh, I am the opposite with alcohol at restaurants! I don't drink beer, but I almost NEVER drink at all while out because it kills me to pay the same for one glass of wine that I could pay for the entire bottle! I don't really care about the price of entrees because even if I bought expensive food, I'd have to cook it, and it wouldn't taste nearly as good at home. But I'd much rather stop at the wine and spirits store on the way home than have a glass with dinner!
