Hi guys, I invited myself over to your board My BFF and I may do a long weekend in London next month. Neither of us have been. We won't have a lot of time but would love to just walk around and see some of the highlights. Definitely want to stay in a central location where doing so is easy, given our short visit. What's a good area to stay? Covent Garden seems to be pretty central.

I wouldn't do Covent Garden as the tube station is a pain. Plus it can be very loud. I would stay in the Marylebone area (near Baker St, Oxford St or Regent Park tube stations) or near the Green Park area. They are central and a bit less intense. Though, honestly, it's so easy to get around London that anywhere in zone 1 or 2 would work out perfectly fine.
I agree with mrsukyankee. You could also try near Holborn/Russell Square. It's close to Covent garden without being in the madness that is Covent garden.
Thanks guys! I ended up finding a great deal on Hotwire in the West End so I just snapped it up. It turned out to be near Lincoln's Inn Fields so hopefully that will work out well. I'm so excited to visit your town! I hope it's mild enough to wear one of my Burberry trenches so I can live out my UK tourist fantasies
RockNVoll , I would love to see you! I think we probably will be pretty packed given the short visit but if anything changes, I will reach out. And I'm fairly confident that I'm going to fall in love with London so I'm sure i will be back
We are heading to London in October so i am now going to be stalking all London threads We have never been and I am sooooo excited!
