...for DH's grandma. She wants to stay in her house, but her family feels it's not feasible. So they've "temporarily" moved her into MIL's dining room. I guess they're just going to keep telling her she'll go home soon?

My great grandmother was insistent that she'd be going home after being placed in a nursing home. She was there for about a decade I'd say and the entire time she refused to sell her house and car.
The thing that bugs me the most is that they've just refashioned the dining room into her bedroom, which is open to the kitchen and living room, and full of stuff (MIL is a borderline hoarder). And there's a bird, that at least used to live in the dining room, but I don't know where it is now. MIL redid the downstairs bath to put a shower it, but it's about big enough to fit a small person into and hose them off. It's not at all ideal.
There's not much we can do about it, we live far away and I'm just the daughter in law. I'm hoping for the best.
