I posted on here a few weeks ago about my TB york tote. The straps were tearing. Anyways, TB responded to me (after Nordstroms wouldn't do anything, ugh) and said to send them the bag, they'll send me a gift certificate for a new tote. Sweet.
But I'm stressing a little- I've had the bag about a year and a half. About 6 months ago, the center pocket was pissing me off. It doesn't connect at the bottom of the bag, and it made it hard to find things. It was only connected on the sides of the bag via thread, though it WAS sewed into the leather on the inside of the bag. You can kind of see what I mean here-
Anyways. So I took thread cutters and took that center pocket out. Again, it wasn't connected on the bottom of the bag, or anywhere else except at the top. Me removing it does not, in any way, affect the structure, quality, whatever of the handles, which is my complaint.
This isn't going to be a problem, right? I did keep the center pocket and am mailing it back with the rest of the bag. Should I type something up and let them know what I did and include that in the box?
I know that some products (car seats for example) if you were to mess with one thing no matter how minor, it can void the warranty.....but this was MY bag to use as I saw fit, and this worked for me. I don't know why I am overthinking this. lol
I have this bag. I feel you on the center pocket, though it holds an ipad perfectly.

I would freaking LOVE that center pocket, if it were sewn to the bottom of the bag. This would make this bag so much better for me. I might actually try to find a seamstress that can do this for me with the new one.

Just send it how it is. I'm kind of amused at the though of them pulling the bag out and thinking "WTF did she do to the pocket?" The pocket didn't affect the straps so I wouldn't worry about it.

I sent it. I included a note about the pocket. At the end of the day, it worked for me, so hopefully its not an issue. If it is, well I guess that is the last TB bag I buy.

Neither can I. I have the exact same bag. The same thing happened to me with the straps after I'd had it for about 6 months. I took it back to Nordstrom and they apologized and immediately replaced it without even asking to see a receipt or looking up in their system whether I bought it there. I think the strap problem is pretty common with this bag (from what I read in reviews after it happened to me).

Its been a year and a half. They ran my card that I assumed I paid with, and couldn't find it. I think I've gotten a new card since then because of the expiration date, but am not sure. And she was having trouble finding my last name in their system, DESPITE the fact that I've bought a ton of stuff there. She told me I could go through my bank statements and try to find a record of the purchase, but I don't remember exactly when I bought it (like it was June-August of 2014 I think) and that just sounds like a lot of work. TB got back to me a day or two after I went there, so I figure I'll try there first.

I like the idea of including the inner bag with a very simple note stating what you did, just so they aren't confused..

I'm surprised too! I think I Would have walked over to customer service and complained.
I always keep the tag with the sticker from my bags in the dust cover bag. I know I won't lose it there and I know it will make exchanges easier if something happens.

lol no. Some days I can barely remember my child's name
I'm positive we paid with our BOA card. I just think it was a different card they ran because I got a new one. If needed I can go back through my bank records. I just don't want to. lol
