Being in the office today. We opened 3 hours late, but our big big boss encouraged everyone to work from home today. From my group, there are only 2 of us in today. The roads were not bad at all, and our facilities folks did an amazing job getting everything plowed and salted.
H found out that he does get paid for the days that his agency was shut down and doesn't have to use his PTO. Woohoo!
I'm off the next two days!! Fully intend to ignore emails. Also we have DD's first bday party on Saturday and I've incorporated a lot of your suggestions for the brunch menu! Thank you MM! I'm really looking forward to it.

I got to kiss and hug Boyfriend before I left for work. This may seem minor but we're both logging long hours and don't see each other much. It's the first in a while we've had the chance to connect in the morning.
Plus I jogged more of the usual walk with the pup today. It's a minor improvement but it feels good.
I just figured out that you can export an outlook calendar into an excel spreadsheet! Which will be really helpful for breaking down for my board how my time is spent. I can make charts and graphs without having to separately track time!
My kitty is eating and seems a lot livelier since we put the cat tree in his room. I think he's just bored and lonely. His followup appointment is on Tuesday and hopefully he should be clear to take off the cone and rejoin the herd.
I should be able to finish one or two big projects today and give myself some breathing room. I've taken on more responsibilities lately and the time management has been a little rough, but I should be OK once I settle into a routine.
Yesterday several bigwigs reviewed a new online course I made at work, and it received rave reviews! It should publish to our system within the next week or so.
I've also been tasked with creating a course on employee uniforms/dress code. I have an idea about making stick figure people and then learners can drag and drop the appropriate articles of clothing onto the people to dress them for work (imagine dressing paper dolls, but online). I'll need to work with our graphic designer since I'm not an artist, but I think this could be a really cool way to make a boring topic interesting.
I really like the opportunity to be creative here. That's been missing in my jobs for the last few years since I left teaching.
Oh, so I ordered some posters for FILS service through a work vendor. I just got official word that the total cost was $11 for shipping, no charge for the posters (should have been $100 or so).

carfar, it's a podcast where two guys re-watch the series and do a 2 hour commentary on it, covering everything from fashion to pop culture references to the writing to camera angles etc. They both work in the industry and it is so interesting to hear their take on the show from that perspective. Plus they are fun to listen to. I love it.
Went to dinner with my parents and they bought. (We often "fight" over who pays and tonight we just went with it.)
I just bought Josh Groban tickets for August! I love him and have actually considered going to two concerts the same week, but I have talked myself out of that for now.
The 6 year old swept the kitchen floor. The 8 year old mopped it.
They asked to do it!
I think you win! Great job mom.
Or are they trying to set you up for a cash for work thing? I kid, that's awesome that they helped on their own. They see how hard you work and anted to help.
