so the other night on twitter, emily quoted a tweet from a "fan" that basically said that they would only buy tickets to their concert if natalie wasn't in the band anymore. because i am a dork, i replied and said some gibberish about how it didn't matter and for every hater they had a dozen more loyal fans, blah blah blah. a few minutes later, emily retweeted me and said "you get a backstage pass!"
again, i am a dork, so i was all excited about getting the retweet. i brushed aside the comment because - well, i don't know, she was probably kidding and whatevs and BREEZY!
but then the next morning i got a notification that the dixie chicks twitter account was following me, plus a PM that said "hi, i'm a member of team DCX and emily asked me to reach out to you to find out if you're coming to any of their shows this year?" UMMMMM, YES.
[cue major freaking out on my end]
after trading a couple more PMs, it seems that while they aren't planning any official fan meet & greets during this tour, i'm going to be placed on a list to get backstage either before or after the concert to meet the band.
!!!!!!!!!
okay, i'm calm.
no, i'm not. it's gonna be a loooooooong wait till october.
because they are apparently STILL not over that one moment a decade ago when natalie told a crowd at a concert that they were ashamed that george bush was from texas.

omg you have to be kidding me. lol. More lol that they think that now, 10 years later, the members of the band are going to be like, "you know, we've stood beside you for a decade, but GlitteryHuntress422 won't buy a ticket unless we do this, soooo, I'm sorry, Natlie, but you're out."

That's awesome! H and I were talking about them the other day. They're playing near us on our anniversary. It's tempting to try to talking H into taking the night off.
