I put Boyfriend in charge of dinner and some other fun reservations (along with a link to a groupon for a couples massage). These don't have to be on Valentine's day proper but something to celebrate within a week or two.
I have a sweet card for him, some candy, a nice love themed picture frame for a pic of us. But his real gift is a dressy watch. Every time we have dressed up for an event, he has commented about wanting a nice watch to wear with his good clothes (rather a far cry from his daily wear at his workshop). I found a crazy deal on a watch I like that was originally $425, on clearance/sale for $98, then I had a 15% off coupon and then I had some gift cards left over from Christmas returns. I ended up spending under $25 out of pocket after the gift cards, discounts, etc. I can't wait to see his reaction.
ETA: I don't know what Valentine's will look like for us in future years but it's our first together so I wanted him to have something special to remember it by.
I asked MH what he wants to do for Valentine's Day and he just shrugged.
On the rare times we go out for Valentine's Day, it's to a casual restaurant that likely won't be crowded - pizza, burgers, pho, etc. If we want something special we usually go out before/after the 14th to avoid the crowds and the limited menus.
We usually cook something together at home on Valentine's Day. I don't have a plan yet for this year, but in the past it's been things like seared scallops, French onion soup, braised short ribs, steaks, and then a fancy dessert like chocolate pots de creme or lava cakes. I need to research a few recipes and ask him what he wants.
I don't have a gift in mind, either, but usually I'll get him beer and he will get me flowers. We stopped buying each other greeting cards years ago.
We don't usually do Valentine's. I bought cards to send to the grandparents and one for H. We'll do something small. We're headed to the lake for a long weekend, so hanging out, relaxing and having fun.
We don't usually have fancy plans on valentine's. We usually exchange cards and maybe a small gift...H usually hunts down my favorite strawberry cream filled chocolate hearts. We'll be in New Orleans on the 13th so we may go to dinner while we're there (with DD) and then just stay home on the 14th. If we don't do dinner in N.O. we'll probably cook some nice steaks at home.
Well, it's a saturday, so we'll spend most of it chasing the kids around. ::swoon::
Not sure about dinner. Maybe an early dinner at the local pub? We'll see. For DH I finally finished our 2014 photo book (yes, a year late). I'll get the kids something small too. Maybe a My Little Pony for L, some treats for M.
We just exchange cards. I'm thinking we'll stay home, and either order in takeout or make something a little special. And something chocolate for dessert. Other than that, we probably won't do much. I like to acknowledge the holiday because I like any excuse to do something a little special - but it's really not a big deal to either of us.

I swear it's Sunday. Which means I won't be in the office all day. Please tell me it's Sunday and I'll actually get to see my sweetie.

I have no idea what we'll do. I guess DH and I need to discuss this since it's only a couple weeks away. We have a 3 day weekend and no kids, so I feel like we should do something amazing, but we'll likely just chill out at home and make a nice meal with wine.

A three day weekend to chill at home with good food and wine sounds pretty amazing to me right now!
My mom is coming over to watch M on Saturday. H would like to go shoot skeet at a local range and I was planning on going to a nice dinner. We don't do gifts just a date. We also have a three day weekend so we will probably take M to the park or zoo on Sunday.
Last year, we went to a Russian restaurant, it snowed while we were dining and on the drive back. It ended up being pretty romantic. I have not thought about it at all for this year. I'd be up to going somewhere but I don't want some excessively expensive prix fixe menu which is the trend around here right now. Answer is: to be determined.
We usually make a fancy dinner at home with good wine and exchange cards.
This year DH convinced me it would be fun to go to the casino in Niagara Fall, have dinner, see a show, get a hotel. So that is what we are doing! It will be fun. His birthday is the 12th, so I feel it counts for both birthday and Valentine's Day.

Kore!!!!! Welcome back! (It's tacom)
We are going out for Cuban food and cocktails. I bought him a box from birchbox man and I'll get him something sweet; probably cupcakes as they are his fav. We went out for sprinkles last year in Chicago so it would be cool to do that in NY now.
This will be my first "first" v-day in 14 years. We should probably do something, but I imagine we will cook at home & hang out.
Also, hi (hug)
Welcome back! Not to sound creepy, but I've been wondering how things were going for you. I'd love to hear an update on you!
Thank you I had a rough couple years. I ended up leaving my H at the end of 2014, and got divorced last year. Hardest thing I've ever done in my life (hello, codependency), but I'm glad to be on the other side of it.
I'm dating a really great guy now. He's the opposite of my ex in a lot of ways: very driven, athletic, extremely true to his word. If he says he's going to do something, he always does. Without fail. I'm pretty into him
I've been focusing on self improvement & hobbies. I've lost 60-70 lbs in the past couple years, and I'm getting back into things I used to enjoy, like golf.

How have you been??
So happy to see you back! And so happy for you that things are looking up.

I'm so proud of you! I'm so happy to hear that you're in a good relationship and focusing on yourself.
I've just been busy studying for my CPA exam and living life. I might PM you sometime when I'm at a computer because I feel like you dealt with some things that I am dealing with.
We are spending the day with another couple and their 3 year old twin boys, so I imagine we'll be pretty pooped and not do much. Maybe I'll find some time to make something special for dinner, but I'm honestly looking forward to a relaxing evening on the couch with DH.
