So i'm really agitated today due to this stupid country. Any helpful hints on how to calm down without leaving the house (two sleeping children and its dark and cold)? I have to get up in the morning so I can't be too hungover.
How about making yourself some kind of fancy coffee or tea? We make frothy half and half for our coffee (just use a whisk and mix it really quick to make foam, or use a stick blender) and then sprinkle a little cinnamon on top. It's almost like something you'd get in a coffee shop, just a little more special and comforting than a plain coffee.

Stan Ohhhh, I do have a bunch of girly crap saved on my netflix list. I am watching junk tv tonight, well as every night.
Ha, interesting comment. It is something I have considered for overall life. Today's agitation is due to stupid package deliveries and the inability to get anything resolved with them (and being lied to constantly about them). I don't know if counseling would help. Maybe @ukyankee can help with that.

Can you Facetime a friend?
Hope you feel better soon!
NO CAFFEINE!!!! It just makes me more agitated!!!! And I already tried that this afternoon (its 9:30pm here) and it didn't work.

Thanks Stan i have been struggling quite a lot lately so it is a good thing to consider. I don't HATE it hear, but it is quite a bit more difficult than I expected it to be.
I take a bubble bath and listen to the Relaxation station on Pandora. I turn off all the bathroom lights and light some candles. Sometimes I have a glass of wine. Sometimes I have ice cream. Sometimes I also do a face mask while I'm at it.

Chocolate, wine (just a glass), some good cheese (it is obe good thing about where you live - they have really good cheese/dairy compared to the States), make a cheese plate with fruit and chocolate and enjoy with your glass of wine. Then a bubble bath and curl up with a book or netflix.
I hate being in those moods! I second the bath thing. I take a lot of really hot baths when it's gloomy or I'm in a bad/stressed mood. They relax me. Or at least make me tired enough to sleep.
I turn on my favorite movies or comedies, call a friend, write/e-mail a letter to a friend/loved one.
For me, sometimes simply having a good cry is the only way to achieve more harmony. Last summer, I was really struggling and I did work with a counselor at betterhelp.com The one I had was terrific and a safe, easy way to vent and get suggestions to help me analyze how to make things better for myself.

Pom I do think I need a good cry, but it isn't coming out. Maybe I need to watch some pathetic movie.
So I took a hot shower (don't get me started on how baths here aren't relaxing...starting with a weirdly long tub and short little me and ending with me just barely able to prop myself up if I crane my neck and point my toes just so) and NyQuil.
I hope tomorrow is better, although none of today's drama is sorted. i still haven't received a package of Christmas gifts, they are still lying to me when they said they tried to deliver it three times, my washer is still broken, the brand new lock for the kids' scooters doesn't work and I still don't know where I will be living in a year. Okay, so maybe I do need to talk to someone.
Do certain noises sound soothing to you? For example, crinkling paper, whispering, drinks being poured, Bob Ross? Look up ASMR on YouTube and listen with headphones. I have a playlist of ASMR videos that puts me right to sleep.

What's mentally wrong with me that my favorite thing to fall asleep to is I.D. tv especially listening to Lt. Joe Kenda? He puts me in the nap zone. I think I need to check out your suggestions.

I like listening to the announcer at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show.
