I just got the rest of my tax documents so I'm going to file tomorrow. Fingers crossed I don't owe. I had to play around with my withholdings because my 2nd part time job doesn't really take anything out in state and federal taxes because of the low amount I make every paycheck. It's hourly and seasonal so with that and trying to up my 401K contributions, I really really hope I don't owe.

My coworker who is in BEC territory with me won't shut up. First it was we are all going to die from the mosquitoes with the zyka virus. Now we're going to die in a snowstorm(we're far enough in central MN we aren't getting the worst of it). Seriously, she just had a conversation with someone starting with the "blizzard" and ending with the mosquitoes. Our bosses get back from Mexico tomorrow and she's convinced they've been bitten and are carrying the virus.

BF and I are both getting quite a bit back - we should end up with around 5k total, which is a bit insane.

I don't think either of us are going to change withholdings, it's nice to be getting a good chunk back. We're going to pay off my car and put the rest in savings. I think part of the reason mine is so high is because I had a crappy job the first 3 months of the year, so I'm nervous to change it and end up owing next year.

It is nice to have joint finances while not being married. I bet if we were married we'd be getting a lot less back.

I've been playing a word game with the same two separate players for at least 2-3 years now. One is an older man, I think he's in his 50s, married, two cute dogs and a beer drinker. The other is a woman, I think in her 20s, brunette, happy smile. I've gleaned this information from their FB photos which serve as their avatars because I've never spoken to either of them and vice versa. Not hi, no good luck, no happy holiday, not a wow, isn't it crazy we've been playing for years now and never said a word. I don't think I'd ever gone a full 24 hours without playing and neither had they. I started playing them around the same time and we fell into a nice routine, with an unspoken rule--when I lose, I rematch, and when either of them lose, they rematch. Well, the woman dropped out at the end of last year. I don't know if it was a NYE's resolution or what. If we'd been on the middle of a game, I might have wondered if something happened to her, but since we weren't, I have to think it was purposely.

Anyway, now, I'm playing so much more slowly and half-heartedly with the guy. He doesn't deserve this, but it's just not the same now that the routine is in shambles. It's a real downer. I keep trying to find a replacement, but no one has surfaced yet. Either they talk, they suck, or don't understand that they don't need to rematch me when I lose so we end up with two games. I hate these people. Where are you, KBSfollowedby4numbers?? Why did you have to go and quit?

haha! I totally get it. We do still play everyday He's an English teacher and very competitive, so he was surprised when I kicked his ass our first match. After chatting a bit, he bet me that I had to meet him if he won the rematch. I beat him again, but I still met him. We are tied within a few games of each other after playing hundreds of rounds. And we're still super competitive about it

We were local to each other. WWF has a community match feature where you can see people in your area. I was like, "huh. He's cute. I'll request a match." It said he was in my state, but I didn't realize he was in the same town til we started chatting. Totally random way of meeting!

I've hit the wall at work today--So productive and then BAM.

The faculty thinks nothing of telling students they can come work with me for extra credit. This is a lovely way to get the students involved. It is not lovely for me when a) it is a surprise and b) they show up for <1 hour spurts. It does more harm than good during our busy times, yet all I hear is "I arranged for you to have (completely untrained) help. I don't understand why this bothers you. Aren't you grateful?"

The kicker is I had to call the clinic to get my almost 3 year old in for an ear infection.  The drive to daycare is 10 minutes and then 10 minutes back to the clinic.  The appointment was for 3:15 with the on call doctor, so no telling how long of a wait.  I normally work until 4:30 so I emailed I was leaving at 2:30.  She said "but you're coming back, right?"  Um, yeah.

Oh lord, my RE just tried to get me to pay $800 for cryo storage, when I'm only at baseline (it's due on beta day, if you make it that far). I already gave them a $$$ deposit and will hit my OOP Max soon. I think MH would have a heart attack if I charged another $800 for this stuff! I've had to explain a few times that we had to give them a deposit that covers our deductible, and then separately already met the deductible with our meds, so we'll get this $ back. It's a lot to remember, though, since there are also uncovered costs. We have the cash, but he hates to part with it.

Oy. I am sorry it is so expensive, but glad you have cash on hand.

I have drained almost all of our cash on a few things - the biggest being our new landscaping - and need to figure out what to sell to get back to some sort of stability. MM would NOT approve of my current emergency fund balance
