Logo design / Graphic Artists?

Hey,

I'm looking for a graphic artist to do some freelance work. If you've gone through finding someone, what avenues did you use?

I've looked at 99designs, designcrowd etc but still leary, as I'd like to establisha relationship for future use.

Any tips are appreciated,

I responded on MM but to answer the second part, I ask my marketing industry people if they have someone, reach out to past contacts and even ask marketing bloggers I follow who they use.

Thanks for the reply, (I'm mostly lurker too). I"m looking for logo design.

I'm not in the US but I've been having this same issue! I think I have just found someone local to me after visiting a website I liked that she had designed. Prior to that I asked for referrals from friends but didn't get too far with that.
I will say that for logo design I LOVED designcrowd when we did ours a few years ago. I think we paid maybe $300 and had over 100 options to choose from. There were quite a few duds but also a lot of high quality designs. In the end we chose on and had the original designer tweak it and then had our own designer tweak it some more and make some variations. I would definitely do that again over using an individual, unless you have a highly talented designer and/or a good idea of what you want already. GL!

Yes, its hard to find someone. I have 2 logo's I need but one is fairly simple and I'm not too concerned with so I'll start with that one. The other is much more important, I didn't think it would be this hard to find someone... (sigh)

How did find your local person?

Ok, I'll give the online sites a shot with one of my logo needs!

The local person I found because I was following another local business on fb who advertised/announced a new website which she had done that I really liked. Then I visited her fb page and discovered she does packaging etc too which will be good for my job. I'm hoping it all works out because our old guy has become so unreliable that I've just started doing everything myself, and I'm no designer lol
