I went to high school with 5 sisters that were all old testament names like Judith, Rachel, Sarah, etc.
I have no problem with this one.
I am questioning the judgment of the rest of the parents in this thread.
Also, re: Nick, Nick and Nicki-- my dad sells a lot to members of our local greek orthodox community. He can't spell any of their last names, so he tracks them as "Nick the painter", "Nick the Greek", "Nick with the Boat", etc. They all know this, and that's how they identify themselves when they call. "Hi, this is Nick the Greek, is Bob there?" It cracks me up.
I went to school with 2 girls named Brandy and Sherry. Their dad was an alcoholic and they had a brother who was named after a drink too. I can't remember what it was though.
Bud?
No. It wasn't that obvious. I'll have to do some FB stalkingto figure it out though.
Our financial planner's children are all named shades of green - Hunter, Forest, Sage, Kelly, etc. We figure maybe it's a good thing for a money person to be obsessed with green?
I think that's actually kind of clever. Since they are actually legitimate names that I could imagine anyone having (not that I like them all, but I don't like a lot of names people choose).
However, I disapprove of naming 4 daughters for seasons. Winter is a boy's name. And Construction would just be a dumb name.
Our first choice boy name has an obvious name that it would pair with thematically. I happen to also really like the other name, but DH does not.
I went to high school with a girl who was named after soda, and all her siblings were too. The girls are Fanta and Shasta, the boys are Cola and RC. Not kidding. Their immigrant parents wanted to give them "American" names.
To make it worse, this family has a really super-long Hmong last name that is difficult for many people to spell/pronounce.
Fanta is the girl who is my age. I always felt bad because she was super smart and very studious in high school, but I always felt like after college, no one would take her seriously in the professional world with a name like Fanta. I guess it turned out okay, I think she's a CPA now.
a girl I went to HS with was named Spring and yes, she named her DD Summer. ugh.
In jr high I had a friend named Sunshine and her sister was named Summer. Their brother was named Tom, after his dad who also named the girls. Even at 13 I realized they got shafted in the name dept.

I went to school with a Breezy, Sunny and something else I can't remember. Their parents were big hippies and they all had really long names to the effect of "Breezy Wind Blowing on a Bright Day". No joke, these were their given names.
I guess me and my siblings have theme names. We were all named from the TV series "Hart to Hart". My brother is named after Robert Wagner, my sister is namer after Stefanie Powers, I am named after Jennifer Hart...my little brother was going to be named after Jonathan Hart, but my dad put his foot down bcause I guess he really disliked the name, so it ended...
I think the theme depends on what the theme is too. You could say biblical names are a theme, but they are so common and there are so many of them that noone seems to notice.
I went to middle school with a Justin and Dustin (twins). WTF were you thinking, parents??
My brother and I have names that I guess you could say are themed. But I didn't realize it until college, I think. And when I pointed it out to my mom, she swears it never occurred to her.
Also, my aunt (by marriage) has brothers named Clark and Kent. Apparently her parents were big fans of Superman. This same aunt has a name that starts with a K, as do the names of her ex-h (my uncle), their only son, their son's wife, and now their grand-daughter.

My cousin named her DD after 2 presidents, and their animals are named after guns... (ruger, colt, & wesson) LOL
