The previous tenant cracked the glass top on the stainless steel stove/oven and it must be replaced. I'm thinking to purchase one with coil burners vs the glass top.
A Glass cooktop oven isn't that expensive but if they break they are very expensive to repair so that's why we have to replace the entire unit.
SHould I avoid glass so I don't have this issue again? Are coil burners just as efficient at cooking than glass? THey each cost 200 at the scratch n dent.
Coils are a pain to clean though. What is the cost difference?
But the coils themselves are pretty cheap to replace, right?
I've finally come around to not hating our glass top stove, but honestly, I prefer coils. I have to be SO friggin' careful when using cast iron or heavy pots. And you can't rest hot pans on cool burners.
The definitive stove order is gas > coils > glass.

If it's for a rental house, I'd get the coils. The tenants are the ones cleaning them; if it's a PITA then they'll be careful not to get them too messy. Whatever.

The going rate for coil 100-120. I found a glass for 195. Budget is 200.
I don't think our renters will take the time to clean the glass regularly and it looks pretty bad when all the white build up collects on the surface. Also I want to prevent replacing it again if someone cracks it.
Just wondering what general opinion of coil was. I'd prefer coil to glass because its easy to scratch.
