I was stranded in Ft Lauderdale on Friday (BTW JetBlue is on my shit list) and ended up spending Friday night there alone. Quiet night indeed.
Saturday I flew home on the earliest flight, and got to my house around 11. DH had called me on my way telling me that his truck got hit by a snow plow, with DD and our babysitter in the back. Fortunately no one was hurt, but the left rear quarter panel is toast. Since I have a somewhat handy husband, he sourced all of his white duct tape and slapped the panel together enough that the truck is driveable for now. The turn signal even still works! We spent the rest of Saturday putting DD's new room together.
Yesterday was putting DD's new bed together, which DH did while I took DD sledding. DH made his famous sloppy joe recipes for the Super Bowl and we watched mostly to check out the commercials (I'm officially boycotting the NFL as of this year).
We're all snowed in today. DD is on her tablet watching videos, DH and I are working. The appraiser came to look at the truck and will tell us how much that will cost in the very near future.

Oh man. Sounds like a rough start to the weekend.
We've started the house hunting down here in NC. The market is just as hot as up there and very little inventory. I'm hoping there is a bunch of houses that come on the market soon since everything is going on 24-48 hours.
I can say COL is not an issue down here. Good luck with the hiring. They are trying to hire a handful of people for DH's team and he said they are having issues finding people. I can't say I miss the days of hiring people.
DH had a snow day Friday and then again yesterday. So it was nice to have him home with us. Unfortunately he had a stomach bug on Saturday so that limited our activities. Honestly it was a weekend of running errands and shopping. The highlight was getting a decent deal on diapers. Lol.
