We have a closed primary, too. I was debating but I am pretty set now, however pa doesn't vote until the end of April. I think much will be decided by then.

We have a closed primary and I know who I'm voting for. But since we don't have our primary until June it's unlikely to matter anyway. Although Bernie has been catching up more than I expected, so I may have a chance to vote for Hillary in the primary after all!
It is kind of frustrating to be in a later voting state for the primaries. I read that there are probably a half a dozen or so proposals for overhauling the system but there doesn't seem to be an easy answer.
PA is a swing state for general elections, so we always get that excitement.

It's very frustrating to be in a later primary state. The thing is, it would be really hard to overhaul the system for a few reasons.
Iowa actually has a law on the books that says if anyone moves their primary/caucus to before theirs theirs automatically becomes earlier. So that complicates changing the system.
Also, apparently part of the reason it's structured the way it is is to keep high cost media markets towards the end of the cycle. If they were in the beginning smaller campaigns would have less of a shot due to the cost of marketing, so it's supposed to be a lot more fair to have the cheaper media markets early in the cycle, to give smaller campaigns a fighting chance to build momentum.
I do think that it should be an overall shorter period of time. Four months to get through primaries and caucuses is insane in a world where all the information is easily at your fingertips.
Yea, a lot of what I read about talked about the media markets, traveling costs, etc. It is an interesting topic and as far as elections go, I think I'd rather they deal w/ campaign finance first.
