Almost the weekend!! Woo.
This has been one hell of a week. I've had a migraine on and off for five days after switching some meds.
Winnie vindictively peed on our bed last night after her bath/ear wash.
I had to take a "specimen" for my GI. Horrifying.
But today is payday, I have an easy day of training, and I got a job interview for a part time position at a hospital I've been in contact with for the past few months! If this works out I'll be up to full time hours (and pay!) with bomb benefits.
My husband said his phone screen interview went well, but phone screens are so hard to interpret. We both really, really want this exact job to work out so...no stress or anything, haha.
I met his favorite professor last night (the one who recommended him for the position) and I made sure to thank her and gush about how much he likes her class. I think I embarrassed him a bit, but she "gets him" and her faith in him has meant a lot to him these past two years.
We're getting our taxes done tomorrow, so of course we're hoping for a refund!
raangoli,so glad to hear about the Blizzard Baby. One of my little twin sisters was 4 pounds when she was born (the other was 6) and I can remember just how tiny that was.
winnieandwine , that post was liked strictly for the job related portion, I'm sorry it's been a rough week.
Good vibes for your husbands, MNH2013 and @bellakitty .
I am working today because I took off yesterday, because I was up half the night before. I slept decently last night, but I do not want to be working today. Bah.
I worked on a proposal until after midnight last night and then slept like shit. At least it is almost the weekend and I can go in to work a bit later this morning.
ETA and it was my own fault for deciding to watch the debate.
I slept like crap too, but I feel surprisingly good. I have some vague recollection of groggily asking Mr. Foodie where he was going when he kissed me goodbye this morning...he told me he was going to work. I have no idea why I asked, except maybe because he was wearing a shirt he usually only wears on weekends but I may also have dreamt all of this.
Sorry you didn't sleep well
I've been having the weirdest, most vivid dreams lately. Mostly bad dreams, unfortunately. Although I don't remember one from last night.
I didn't sleep well last night either. I need to stop watching videos on my phone before trying to go to sleep.
I'm really anxious to go pick up my skirt that I had tailored. If it turns out great, I will be sooo happy. There's so many times that I don't get clothes because they fit a little funky. This could be a huge game changer!
I'm really enjoying this Valentine's Day. It's like there's a competition on who can have the biggest flowers delivered. This one lady just had flowers delivered that are so big they won't fit on her desk. They take up the entire top of our ~3-4 foot wide lateral file cabinet. The delivery guy had to turn to fit thru the door. LOL!!
I really wish Alicia and Frank Prady had ended up together. I know they said he was a Jesuit, but they had great chemistry and intellectual spark but instead they made her sleep with the Hair that was her pseudo-campaign manager
“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”
I am knitting socks with owls on them. Except, if you look at the top half of the owls, upside down, they kinda look like cthulu. It might just be the yarn selection (a nice deep green), but part of me was tempted to frog the whole thing and re-knit them as cthulu socks...
H and I are going away this weekend. With the craziness we've had over the past 6 months with our move, we need a weekend just to relax and unwind. Of course, it's going to be the coldest weekend of the year. So I suggested to H that we go to the local winery, distillery, and microbrewery where we'll be staying and partake in the tastings at each.
You ever give someone a self-imposed deadline and then wonder why the eff you did that? Me and my big mouth! "I'll get that to you by the end of the week!" I could have been out of here hours ago, but instead I'm just now wrapping up. At least it's over.
Did you guys know there are stores that only wrap gifts? I'm really late on that, aren't I? I can't wait to take my perfectly wrapped gift into a party this weekend. (hot)

At times my boss can be very frustrating, but overall I love working for him as evidenced by this text message exchange:
Boss(50 something male): Who's doing x (something that needs to be done by Monday and will probably require a weekend hour or so)? Me: I thought you were but I can do it if you want. B: No I got it. M: Thanks! It's my engageversary weekend! B: I just vomited in my mouth. M: Haters to the left.
I LOVE that we can joke around - it makes work so much more bearable.
YAY: I am on vacation! BOO: My Southwest flight was delayed and they didn't hold the plane (despite 11 transfers and only needing 10 minutes for us to connect), so now I am stuck in the San Diego airport for 4 hours. At least there is a big bar!

Um...whut?!?
konapoppy I am only liking due to the bar. SW in my experience is very good about holding planes as I've had mine held for 50 minutes before but I'm sorry you weren't so lucky.

raangoli,I'm so glad Blizzard Baby is doing well! I've been thinking about you guys.
It was 87 degrees here today. WUT. It's February, right? Not complaining at all, as I sit outside on my patio drinking wine at 5pm in shorts.
I had to have a meeting with one of my employees today about her performance, and her life is just SO hard. Family issues, long term marital abuse that she finally got out of, and just a lot of sadness. It makes it so hard to discipline her, and every time I do I feel horrible. It was a productive conversation and I think it helped her, but I still felt bad piling on. Being a manager is hard when you let your emotions get involved. I'm usually pretty good at separating, but this girl gets to me.

They just gave us $100 vouchers!
It was off for SW, because they never even announced it (I had gone to the gate agent to check) and then everyone kept telling us there was a chance we would make it. It was the first time that had happened to me in 25 years of regular travel with them.
Why am I so fucking nice to people? I'm evicting a stupid tenant. I gave them 24 hours notice-WHICH I DIDN'T HAVE TO DO-and they are refusing to leave. Sent me a stupid fucking email. No dude. I can be there with the cops right now. Do I want to do that in front of your 2 year old daughter? NO. I DO NOT. DON'T BE STUPID. I'm giving you a very gracious out-TAKE IT.
Every time I'm pissed at my tenants, I think of your landlord stories. I hope they don't give you too much trouble tomorrow!
I have a neighbor who annoys the living shit out of me with her dog. She basically walks it through everyone's back yards, lets it crap everywhere and doesn't pick up after it. I'm not talking about walking it on the curb or anything. I'm talking about walking it in the middle of yards. I don't know why you wouldn't just walk your dog in your own yard if you aren't going to pick up after it. She walks it in my back yard and it craps all the time. Then I step in it when I'm walking my dog. I'm bothered enough that she's even walking through my back yard, but her dog shit just pisses me off.
So today I happened to be home from work and she was letting her dog shit right outside of my back porch! I went outside and asked her not to walk her dog back there any more if she was not going to pick up after it. It felt very satisfying to do this right as the dog was crapping. I have been wanting to say something to her for the past 8 months.

Dammit....if I had seen this earlier I would've come down and hung out with you. There is a way better bar just across the street from the airport.

Ah that would have been amazing! Will remember to tag you next time I am stranded
