We really want to install cabinets in our laundry room as we currently have that God-awful wire contractor shelving in there now. It's basically a pass-through room from the garage to the house. You walk in from the garage, the washer/dryer are on your right, and we have a utility sink next to them before you get to the door to the house. On the opposite wall we have hooks hung for coats and purses. The shelving is above the washer/dryer.
Where would you go to get the cabinets? I'm looking on Houzz and not coming up with much. Would you install yourself, or hire it out? I have lots of handy people in my family (brother, SIL, and dad are all architects and builders), so that's a last resort.
We'd need to paint first, though, because I hate the colors in there now. It's white except for the wall opposite the washer/dryer, which is this dark blue color. It's not awful, but it's not what I would want.
We bought some white cabinets from Lowes and got the matching crown molding and filler strips. It turned out fairly nice! MH installed them one weekend. I don't think it was a big deal.

Do you find it a pain to reach them? I'd love to just get some stock cabinets, but I'm short and I'm afraid i won't be able to reach them over my front load washer and dryer. Or do you just not put stuff in them that you need easy access to?
I'm 5' 8" and can only reach the bottom shelf. But that seems to be fine for me, I just keep the soap and stuff there then use the top shelves for storage of lesser used items. I'm thinking that you could potentially lower them a bit and use a filler strip across the top too.
We installed some from Lowe's or Home Depot in our last house. My H installed them without any trouble. He hung a bar between the two, but it was too high to be functional for me. I only put stuff I needed on a regular basis on the lower shelf. I could reach the others, but if you're short, you'll probably need a step stool.
We installed some from Lowes at our last house. We hung ours at a height that didn't interfere with the top loader, but our (smallish tween/teen daughters could reach, although the one who never grew past 5'1+" couldn't ever reach the top shelf without standing on something), since they helped with laundry and needed access to the other supplies stored there.
We used IKEA kitchen cabinets when we redid our laundry room. They had better size options than Lowes & HD because we had height, width, and depth weirdness to deal with. Plus I think it ended up cheaper than any of the Lowes/HD options that we could have done but weren't as good as our final layout. They had a planner that would let you put in your room dimensions and then pick and choose different cabinet options so you could play with different layouts which was awesome.
I definitely can't reach the upper cabinets without a step stool, but I really wanted the extra storage (and our ceilings in that room are surprisingly tall). The upper ones are the place where we stash extra light bulbs, the cat's carriers, and things that are handy to have inside and in a specific home but aren't used very often.
