Our kitchen/cabinets/and living room walls are all BM white dove. I chose that because it was recommended on a bunch of blogs, lol. I still love it 5 years later. I didn't do a ton of samples though because I know I would just drive myself crazy.
I just remembered I had a dream about buying light blue-greenish paint, like a duck egg blue.
Sorry about your white paint dilemma. Of the two walls (Chantilly Lace and White Dove) which one do you look at more? Go with that one, just paint it and be done with it. For me, at least, the more I think about something the worse it gets and the less sure I am.
I just got back from Sherwin-Williams. I'm not a white walls kind of girl (I was looking for blue), so I don't have any color name suggestions. I think it helps to look in the store so you can see swatches side by side & look all the way down the line to see what tint there is to a color.
Good luck! It's hard to have something in mind & not be able to find it. One thing the SW guy told me was to take two swatches and put them at a 90° angle so you can see quickly how different they look. He told me to take two of every sample I took.
So.many.options...yet I still can't find what I see in my head!
I did SW Alabaster recently and LOVE it. On the white scale it trends toward yellow and when I painted it onto fresh drywall (so a bland white) I was kind of horrified at the creaminess. Now that the painting is complete it looks great and I'm so glad I picked it. It's pretty similar to SW Greek Villa, which I'm also a fan of.
But really, just pick one. I promise you'll like whatever you pick.

I'm not sure which I find more surprising, honestly: that a conversation about white paint can go on as long as this one has; or that you all know the brands and colors that are in your houses. Or is this on another spreadsheet?

I have never known the colors in my house. We painted the kids rooms and I still couldn't tell you.

lol well if you chose a paint, you probably know what it is, right?
I know all the colors in my house right now b/c I picked them all. If you asked me the colors in my last house, I would have said "light green, dark green, and yellow."
I might remember my colors while I'm walking from Home Depot to the car. After that, omg, it's long gone. I'm serious, thinking people must have a spreadsheet with what room is what color. I have no idea in my house. I couldn't even tell you the brand.
I had dream that Holly was back. Or did that really happen? Holly? Are you out there?
I pop by from time to time and just came by to kill a few minutes when my eyes went straight to a 'white paint' thread and I felt like I was home again, it's like my bat signal.
I like Chantilly lace. I do most of my rooms in paint from Pratt & Lambert, but they can be a pain to find sometimes. My personal all time favourite is seed pearl by them because it has a warm base but is in no way cream-y. How much tint do you want to your white?
LOVE the bed frame!! I agree with going white, with little tint in new homes. If you go on their site you can enter your zip and see if a dealer is near you! I get mine at a local interior design supplier I would have never found if not for their site. But if not, I do also like mirage white by Behr. I just grabbed my BM deck to look through and I've always struggled with them because even their lightest colours feel often too tinted for me. But White Heron is a nice cool one or white snow and Chantilly lace does indeed look to be a really light white, one of their least tinted.
We did SW in snowball in our hallway and it turned out perfectly. It looks grey in the color swatch online but it takes on a nice soft white in our hallway.

The Chantilly Lace one for sure. It's the one across from our bed. The White Dove looks really gray over there.
I just keep remembering that when I posted before, someone said they had painted a room Chantilly Lace and ended up regretting it because it looked too yellow. So I can't pull the trigger.
That was me - sorry! I think I had compounding factors though- the room had a huge window facing South which tints light yellow during the day and it also went through a huge maple which also made things more green in there.
Paint it the Chantilly Lace if you like it best! I'm sure it will be lovely!

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but do you have a picture of it on your walls? I got a sample, and I'm leaning towards it now, but I'm afraid it will read too dark in my room. All the pics online are of gorgeous, airy, well-lit rooms.
The pics are in our little guest house we've been renovating, so they're not the best. We used SW Alabaster for the walls and BM Decorators White for the ceiling and trim. I like how the pure white of Decorators white contrasts with the Alabaster.
Stay away from SW Alabaster. All of my trim/ceilings is this color and I hate it. I'm actually thinking of redoing it all. It's SO yellow it looks sickly.
Edit: I'm actually in here because I'm looking at colors to replace the Alabaster.

BOOOOOOO
edit: To be fair, I wouldn't like it for trim or ceilings either. We're talking about walls.

Ahhh *shakes fist*
I was actually starting to lean that way b/c my white trim still looks white next to it. It looks dingy and gray next to any other warm white I've tried. I am not repainting the trim b/c it's the same throughout my house and i want to keep it that way.
Sorry! The trim is the same all through my house and it would be a huge undertaking to re-do it. That's how much I dislike that color.
If you really like it go for it, and it's only one room so it's not a big deal to change, but I'd steer clear of it. But hey a few people in here like it.
