Hey there...delurked on international, but just to let anyone know, if they want any info on East Africa, please message.
Am based in Kenya but spend 2 weeks every month travelling the region - Uganda, Tanzania, Mauritius and Seychelles, so can give tips on restaurants, transport and places to stay
It won't be till late 2013 but I'm a planner. We came up with the "perfect" itinerary, and it was 8 weeks, we will only have 4 - 6 weeks. Definately looking forward to kili and Ngorgonro (sp?) crater. We were hoping to do the gorillas in Uganda or Rawada, Vic Falls, Estosha, Fish River, Chobe, Cape Town, Joburg, Kruger, Okavanga delta and a few others but like I said that was 8 weeks. DH and are currently in long and tense negotiations!

Good luck in the planning. I did a bungee jump at Vic Falls 4 years ago...and honestly...its one of those bucket list experiences. Definitely try and do that.
There's a simple solution to this problem: take more than one trip.
I am dying to get to Namibia, but there's a good chance we'll end up in Africa when we leave KL and I don't want to waste vacation time and a long flight if I'll be in the vicinity soon.
That's the problem, everything is so far from Oz, so i can't see us coming back in the next 10 years with everything else we want to do. I think I will conceed Cape Town and we will do that with Namibia for another trip (so we can hike the Fish River proper etc).

Definitely do Vic falls and bungee jump! Nothing like it! Also, we used to have a time share there called Lokuthula lodge, which is amazing! I would highly recommend. Cape town, cape point, and Kruger are also wonderful. My parents have a b&b less than a 10 min drive from one of the Kruger gates in a wildlife estate. Pm me if you are interested.

We also did Tanzania and Zimbabwe last fall. If you have the time, I agree Vic Falls is a must, though I'm not sure I'd bungee. That shit looked pretty precarious when we were there and not long after we got back the video where the bungee cord snapped was all over the news in the US. That water's crazy rapids and in a gorge full of crocodiles. No thank you! :-)
R-n-V are you the one who was trying to decide between Mnemba or Zanzibar? I can't remember. If so, did you make a decision?
