Expat Offer Update

Well, I accepted this week!  I am officially moving to Sri Lanka!

We are not 100% decided on what DH will do yet.  He has an interview this next week for a position with my company in Sri Lanka.  I do know there are two other candidates that have more of the experience DH is not as strong on, but DH has the right educational background that I am not sure if they others have.  Plus he has a damn good reason to move and stay in Sri Lanka for 2-3 years as I'll be there.  
I feel this is my last hope to get him over there with me.  Otherwise he will stay here in the US and we will see each other every 3 months for about 2-3 weeks at a time.  

I start my orientation class next Friday.  The visa process is about 4-6 months so I'm thinking it will be end of June early July when I move.  

Be prepared for so many more questions to come your way!

Congrats! We are across the Indian Ocean in Tanzania. We've done the Bi-continental relationship thing before. I'm not going to lie and tell you it is easy because it isn't, but it is definitely doable.

Thank you for your honesty.  I am really hoping it doesn't come down to that, but we are both willing to try if it comes to our worst case scenario. I'll keep you in mind for questions in the future on this.  

I had to look at a map real quick, we are going to be international neighbors!  How long have you been there, how much longer?  Do you think it?  Where are some of the places you have traveled to during your stay there?

We've been here exactly two weeks--so not much help there. We were in the US for two years before this and Malaysia before that, Switzerland before that, and Prague before that so we have been on this general train for a while. We're here for four years. Just now trying to figure out what we want to do with our R&R trips.

Congratulations!! My husband's company gives precedence to spouses so hopefully he'll get that job and make it easy on you guys.

Congrats! I'm excited for you!! We're in Doha, so not too close but only 4 hours away :-P

Good luck to your husband - I know it helps to have the both of you working!! DH and I did long distance for 6 months while he taught a semester in the US. It was tough, but we managed! You can do it, but I'm hopeful that you won't have to!

I'm currently doing the bi-continental thing. It's not always fun, but it can works.
