Not sure this board is too active, but I wondered if anyone had any advice about weaning. My daughter is just over one and our RE wants me to wean sooner than later (I'm 40 with DOR), and it's been so rough emotionally. I'm down to three sessions, but it's so hard to not nurse when she's upset and batting at my chest. Anyone been through this? Advice?
Hold old is she again? Is she a good eater, transitioned to WCM or an alternative? My kid was sooooo attached to nursing, so I ended up just stepping back, but used the don't offer, don't refuse method. I work full time, so it was really always as soon as we got home, bedtime, and at wake up. Weekends, he wanted to nurse a lot! That worked well for us, though.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

Timing is bad, because we are just transitioning to WCM and she's had a cold so suddenly not into solids. I think the routine change is a good idea. I always nurse to sleep, so that's got to change... I work from home but may need to start going in while we transition.

This is me. I love nursing and am not ready to wean yet, but at 19 months I still don't have a period and I'm starting to kind of freak out at the reality that I will most likely have to wean to get pg, especially if I need to use Femara again.
DD will drink zero cows milk and nursing is her favorite thing ever. Ugh, I wish this wasn't so emotional.

Ah, yes! It's so hard when they're both really attached to nursing and around you all the time. It got better for us as he got older.

I'm sorry you're in the same boat, lo! I felt a lot of guilt at weaning so we could try, and that was after age 2! This mom stuff is hard all around.
So hard! I'm not going to wean until after 2, either. Fingers crossed I get pg before then, but highly doubtful!
I was reading about Vitex helping fertility while breastfeeding, including bringing on a period. I'm thinking about trying it. I did try it the first time I was TTC and I don't think it helped at all and may have even made my cycles screwier, but I guess I have nothing to lose!

C was super attached to nursing. My RE wanted me weaned before getting pregnant but I ended up pregnant on my 4th PP cycle while BFing 4/day. I had to weaN ASAP per her advice (I have m/c history).
I dropped the midday two first (and fast...only 3 days between). We just got up from nap, changed, and went for a walk with a snack. I dropped bedtime next and it was a complete non issue (actually bedtime is much easier now). I dropped morning last and did it when we were spending the night at my parents. I just keep him distracted and it worked...it's been much easier than I thought it would be and he's even cutting molars.
He also doesn't like WCM but will drink water. He gets plenty of cheese, yogurt so I'm not forcing it for now.
Good luck! I was such a mess at the time and now it's just something that I look back on with very good memories. I did take pictures of our last time too but haven't even looked at them...just nice to have if I want to.
