Sunday: steak, lobster tails, roast potatoes, roasted asparagus, fruit
Monday: DH cooks. Grilled trout, cornbread, red beans and rice, carrots, fruit
Tuesday: chicken and dumplings, salad
Wednesday: pasta with clam sauce, steamed broccoli, salad, fruit
Thursday: sealed pork and cheese sandwiches, cole slaw and/or pasta salad, fruit
Friday: DD1 plans and cooks. Hot dogs, peas and corn, fruit
Saturday: not sure yet. DH had drill this weekend and I'm not sure if he will be around or not.
All meals are preceded by an "appetizer" consisting of various veggies (this week carrots, cucumber, jicama, broccoli, and spinach leaves) with a small bowl of ranch. It's my biggest weapon to get my kids to eat any veggies.
I am so impressed with everyone who has posted! DH and I keep saying we need to get on the meal planning train. Along with using our crock pot more often...

I've given up. I'll start cooking for real again when C sleeps through the night. Until then, crockpot everything! Or spaghetti, chicken nuggets, and hot dogs.
I did stock up on frozen veggies, so at least A won't be malnourished.

It makes life so much easier IMO. Plus we spend so much $ on groceries as it is I don't even want think about what we would spend if I didn't meal plan!
I try to spend 2-3 hours on Sunday prepping as much as I can so that the actual weekday cooking takes no more than 20 min prep & cook time.

This is us too although I don't think I spend quite that much time on prep on Sunday. And the amount if time I don't spend thinking/stressing about what's for dinner because I don't have a plan makes it sooooo worth it. It takes a little effort to get in the groove at first, but then it becomes total habit. mcfelix,
Sunday - beef bourguignon with polenta Monday - zatoni (a pasta casserole my mom made for us) and garlic bread Tuesday - chicken tikka masala in crockpot with broccoli and rice Wednesday - pork chops, sweet potatoes and asparagus Thursday - left overs Friday - takeout
