How was your weekend? Did you get any surprises for Valentine's day?

Friday we went out for dinner and I finally got my dress in for the gala on Saturday, so I spent the evening trying to decide which size to wear and which shoes to wear with it.

Saturday I went and bought some shoes that were tall enough to keep me from tripping over my dress. The gala was nice. There were no major mishaps and I got lots of compliments on my dress. 

Sunday we grabbed breakfast at a local diner. A friend of ours came in with her current bf, so we invited them to join us. H and I went to see Deadpool - it was hilarious! Ryan Reynolds did not disappoint! H was hungry so we went and had Italian at 2:30 in the afternoon. Took a nap, went for a walk, went out for ice cream. Then I started laundry. 

H surprised me with flowers this morning. He's leaving for a conference today, so he wanted to butter me up for while he's gone.

Weekend was okay. Friday I went to see a friend's debut with his new band, which was pretty cool. They are a rock type band with a female lead singer who was really impressive, so I'll probably make it a point to see them again when I can.

Saturday the H went drag racing while I did some stuff around the house. BFF came over for a little bit so we had a couple glasses of wine and just got to chat. We didn't do anything that night except have some drinks and watch some shows.

Yesterday the H picked up fajitas for lunch and brought them home so we didn't have to brave the crowds. He also gave me a nice bouquet of flowers, a card, and a pair of earrings. We had the memorial service for my old HS friend in the afternoon/evening, so we just had a big lunch and some light snacks afterwards. Last night my head was feeling congested and my nose was running, but I couldn't tell if it was just because I had been crying off and on at the service or if I caught the crud. Woke up this morning and it definitely feels worse, so it seems I have a respiratory bug or something, been taking meds and drinking water all morning. I hope it passes quickly, as it is going to be a busy work week for me. Ugh.

I was surprised. H made lunch reservations yesterday so that was nice.

It was fun and relaxing overall.

Friday night we went to a .38 Special concert. It was fun but sold out and so so crowded. My feet were killing me and I was exhausted from the week. Next time, I would pay extra for VIP seating at this venue so we could sit down. #old

Saturday I didn't leave the house except for going to the gym lol.

Sunday DH surprised me with flowers and coffee when I woke up (we had said no gifts and so I didn't get him anything and felt bad). It snowed yesterday and we took Roxie to frolic in it. Then did a day date with a nice lunch out and a movie.

Today I had off and went to the gym and Starbucks. Have been trip planning the rest of the day.

Friday - Picked up S's new car then went out for wings and beer.

Saturday - Painted S's office (trim-work sucks, that took FOREVER). Contractor is coming later this week to install a new desk/storage unit. I'm so excited because it will have move than enough room for both of us to work, and the room is really starting to look cozy. I hated what was in there before, so I'm glad we're changing it.

Sunday - We went out for dinner and caught up on the DVR.

It was really nice (but too short). Saturday, we went up to WI to see my parents (and my brother who was also visiting). We ended up playing Cards Against Humanity, and I have never seen my dad laugh so much or so hard.

Sunday, we slept in, ran some errands, and then made fondue at home.

Friday I went out for drinks with friends, then hung out at home.

Saturday we went to a funeral (our friends' grandmother) and then to a pub for beers with the family. The ILs came back to our place for dinner after, and then G and I went downtown to bar hop for our friend's birthday.

Sunday G made a big breakfast, we did a bit of shopping, then had a fancy dinner at home.

We were both supposed to work on Monday, but a snow/ice storm kept us both home. I had a delay this morning as well, which was really nice.

Weekend was great. H and I went to NH Friday night and met my mom, step-dad, sister, 3 nieces, 2 boyfriends and 1 friend. It was a full house!
Saturday we went to the general store and then took a ride along the Kankamagus Highway. It's a road the cuts through the white mountains and it's gorgeous all year, but especially in the winter. The river freezes over at parts and the water flows through and on ice formations.

That night my mom made dinner and we kept the wood-burning stove cranked! It was -16 with a windchill of -28. I've never been in cold like that before. First (and hopefully last!) time for that. After dinner played Rotten Apples. (Similar to CAH.) The kids pretty much kept to themselves, which was great. I hope next time they bring friends too!

Sunday we packed up and headed out by noon. Did some shopping on the way home and then just veg'd out.

Monday I had off so my 2 sisters, my mom and I went to visit my grandmother. Probably for the last time since she is refusing to eat and drink now. She seemed kinda with it, but kinda faking it too. Hey, the woman is 90 years old. If I am in a nursing home at 90, in feeble health, I'll probably stop eating to help move things along too.
