I've been working on a certain file at work since Thursday. It's almost done, just needs hole punched for binding and retabbed. One of my coworkers has offered to help me punch it, but I'm hesitant to accept because I'm particular on the perfection of the holes in my files. Am I a jerk? It won't go out to the provider until this afternoon anyhow.
Also, I miscalculated one of my bills this month and find myself operating on about $20 (and my discover card, lol) until Friday. Ooops.
Finally, I wore these absolutely adorable shoes to work yesterday. They are very comfortable, but I'll be damned if part of finishing that file didn't involve approximately 4000 trips to the copy machine from my desk. I must've walked three miles in them, which was fine, until I got out of the car when I got home last night. My foot cramped with my toes stuck in the "heel wearing" position and I swear they were still like that when I went to bed. LOLOL

Those are lovely shoes!
I think my H is going to go into sticker shock when he sees how much it costs to do the house reno we're talking about doing. We might have to do it in stages which he won't like.
I need to get a mattress for E's room at the new house since she's going to a twin. I really don't want to shell out a ton of money b/c it's a kid's mattress? I'll stop by a couple stores and see. Anyone have an online rec?
We have some stuff into the builder about the trim work. Two rooms have issues, which pisses me off. Especially when the trim guy showed me a pic and I'm like "yes, that is what I want" and then we end up with something different. We'll probably have to do another walkthrough with them to fix it.
Welp I did it. Ordered art for my bedroom finally. I've wanted a big print of Gustav Klint's The Kiss forever but I keep telling myself it's tacky because I had it in my college dorm ten years ago. Finally I just said (1) something is better than nothing and (2) I had good taste ten years ago. I can't wait til it gets here!
DH left early this morning for a meeting in CA and won't be back until very late tomorrow night. I am kind of feeling guilty because I am looking forward to being home alone for 2 days, and again in March for over a week when he goes back to oversee a job. It isn't like he is awful to be around or anything....I am just used to being alone most of the time and am looking forward to being able to think uninterrupted (apparently I spend a lot of time thinking and startle easily when deep in thought-lol) and not have someone magically in my way every time I go to do something. The dogs behave better when he isn't around.
He had a phone interview yesterday and they want to see him next week for an interview in person. It sounds like it could be a great fit for him, and like it is a great company, but it is in another state. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it, but we have no plans to sell this house, even if we do have to relocate.
I have a lot of errands that I am looking forward to doing alone, but I am going to wait until tomorrow so that I can have a total goof off pajama day today.

Costco has the best price/quality for twin mattress. I bought a cheap box spring from another store to save some dollars.

Vent: I submitted the schedule for 10 weeks of classes in October. No objections, schedule approved, schedule published, students enrolled. On week six, 2 of the speakers (who are part of the approving body) expressed concerns (no, panic) about their placement on the schedule, saying it is unworkable, and asking for big changes. And the Chairperson, instead of taking my position (i.e.: 'please propose changes NEXT YEAR') is suggesting ways I might accomodate the changes. WTF. OCTOBER was the time to bring this up, not 2 weeks before your speaking engagement. Do people just get together and brainstorm ways to be difficult? And my work doesn't count, why does my position exist? Why can't you do this yourselves?

Did you get it in store? Online is still pretty pricey for a twin IMO (or maybe I'm out of touch).
ssmjlm, Big Lots has Serta mattresses that seem to be pretty reasonable.
If you think a guest may have to use your kids bed or that you might ever have to lie down with her, do yourself a favor and don't cheap out. We bought cheap mattresses that provided enough support for our lightweight kids and fit our budget at the time, but they were beyond uncomfortable for those nights when one of us had to crawl in with a sick kid. My parents took the trundle bed and crappy mattresses from us for the kids to sleep on at their house, but we got stuck there several times and eventually bought new mattresses so that anyone stuck in that room could be comfortable.

Here's another one. I just got "banished" to the conference room for our building to work since we're out of space in our office. I went from a shared office with a dinky desk to a conference table with a view:
My cart wouldn't start this morning. I was late getting to set up, but at least I was there. Three vendors no-showed plus one sent me an email that she forgot. I more or less got a job offer. I won things--second in a one category and first in two (one individual and one group project). I'm pleased.
However, I want to go to bed, and that's not happening because...homework. Stupid homework.

Nice.
When we moved to FL they didn't have an office for DH so they put him in a corner conference room with an amazing view. He had no complaints.
Your view makes me bitter! I used to have a window after years of waiting for a space to open up. During our move they assigned us to desks randomly and a co-worker who is Jr. to me in just about every way got a rocking desk with a view with a light switch she can control. I hate fluorescent lights but can't convince my other coworkers to turn ours off. Anyway i can't pitch a fit about the assignments without looking petty and like a bully (she's very nice and timid), but i am petty about it. And bitter that she gets the turn off-able light and then keeps it on all day.
Don't be too bitter over my view. Tomorrow I'm stuck in the break room all day. Literally, staring at the fridge and coffee machine. I think Thursday will be half break room and half dinky desk, and then Friday either break room or conference room.
And next week is even more uncertain. We hired someone new who started this week and next week someone comes back from mat leave. We are literally two desks too few next week.

Geez, is office space a premium price there?
We're a growing office. In a not growing office space.
They've already moved once in three years and will have to move again or take over an adjacent suite in order to fit everyone.

My H is going through this - they've grown too quickly and can't accommodate everyone. They now have a rotating schedule of people working from home, though my H has to sometimes work from home & go into work for meetings (which means losing about 45 minutes each way in commute so has to work even later than he normally does). I can't wait for their new office to be finished.
