Hello! I've never posted here, but thought maybe you all could help me out. My sister is getting married at the end of October and we're looking at bridesmaid dresses right now. Originally we wanted to do a long tulle skirt with a sweater, but she tried on something similar and said it looked sloppy. Could've been the sweater maybe, but now we're looking for something different. This is the dress were considering. I'll be trying it on in a couple weeks. Do you think this would work with a cardigan? And if so, any suggestions? With the cost of the dress, we obviously don't want to spend a ton on a cardigan, but it will likely be cold for an evening wedding (reception is outside too) and would like to stay as warm as possible .
I did some quick google image search. I think they look ok if the cardigan is a shorter or cropped cardigan. Otherwise it does look sloppy. I also think the tulle skirt idea is good - but you have to have a tucked in/tight fitting sweater for it too look good.
Dress is beautiful. What color cardigan were ya'll thinking about pairing with that dress? Are ya'll opposed to a faux fur shawl or something like that?

We're not opposed to a shawl, I just think a cardigan would be easier to deal with for the night. We're not sure on color, her colors are garnet, gold, hunter green, and blush. We thought ivory at first, but her dress is kind of a weird color (it's called candlelight I think) and we didn't want them to look strange next to each other.
What type of sweater did ya'll have in mind to go with the tulle skirt? I honestly think that if you find a more form fitting sweater and tuck it in, it wouldn't look sloppy. I love wearing my tulle skirt.
We love the look too, but are having a hard time finding the "right" sweater. This is the skirt we were going to get, and all the sweaters we like are over $100. The skirt is over $200 and none of us want to spend that kind of money.

Here's a cheaper skirt option-http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/272071504212?ul_noapp=true&chn=ps&lpid=82

how many bridesmaids? are any of them larger girls? because i can see this whole sweater thing going bad FAST.
if it's just you, then rock on sister.
i got married in october, and it was FRIGID for my wedding, and really really cold for GA to boot. my girls were just cold for the ceremony, and then for the reception i told them i didn't care what they had on...some wore jackets, some had pashmina wraps, but really once it's reception time all bets are off as to a certain "look".

I think there's 5 of us? I don't know about body types, I've never met most of them. But I think most are thin or average. I'm really liking some kind of sleeves, mostly out of selfishness. I have some post-pregnancy scarring on my shoulders, upper arms, and chest. My sister is being a rockstar, trying to make me feel as comfortable as possible, but also trying to dress us for the weather.
