Has anyone gone over a holiday weekend in the fall (Labor Day in Sept, Columbus Day in Oct or Veteran's Day in Nov)? Which is better? Pros/Cons?
I think there will be four of us traveling. It would be me, my mom, her sister/my aunt and DD who will be five.
We are also trying to figure out the best place to stay. We will definitely want to go to MK and AK. Not sure if we will try to do EP or HS. We will probably use the Magical Express and will not have access to car. We loved the convenience of BLT but want to try something new. I think the Poly is our top choice right now if we can get it. Not sure if we will try to rent DVC points or not. Is it already too late to book a room there for this fall?

We went over Veteran's Day week in 2014. It was busy on actual Veteran's Day, but overall not too bad. The weather was pleasant in the 70s. Columbus Day would be warmer and Labor Day would I think still be hot weather (too hot for my liking).
No it's not too late to book for the fall. I just booked a trip for a client last week who wanted to go over spring break. PM me if you want help. Any holiday weekend will be busy, we are usually there over MLK weekend and it's manageable. I'd choose the one with the weather average that you're most comfortable with.

My biggest concern with Labor Day is the weather. However I think that weekend might work best for my mom. I guess it could be a good test for a going in the summer in future years.
@starry DD did the mine train at age 4. She did not want to try it the first day, but did later in the trip. She sat with DH. He said she did alright. When we got off she did say it was a too fast for her.
Did your 3-4 year old like Kali River Rapids and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train? I showed DD1 videos of each ride and she says she wants to do both. She is moderately adventurous. Just to make sure she wasn't bs'ing me I described the Tower of Terror and she said no to that so maybe she really can handle it. @savestheday
My 4 year old got on Mine Train and then changed her mind before they brought the bar down on her lap. This was after talking about it for months. She did end up going on it 2 times later in the trip though. They gave us a return certificate after her failed attempt.

4/19 is the speculated opening date for Rivers of Life at Animal Kingdom. Kenny the Pirate updated his FB to say that Castmembers are blocked from using their passes at AK that day so that usually means something big.

I am so excited about this! I hope it's as cool as the renderings I've seen. We're going to DL in November, so no WDW trip until 2018 I think. On the upside, more of the studios stuff will be completed.

My 4 year old loved Mine Train and BTMRR.
We didn't do KRR, but she's ridden a ride like it and was fine.
She rode, but didn't want to ride again: Splash Mountain, Tower of Terror (theming got her more than the actual ride part), or Expedition Everest.

The Seven Drawfs mine train was my 4 year olds favorite ride. She thought Kali River was ok. She did not like Tower of Terror.

DD2 was 3 1/2 when we went this fall. She liked Kali River Rapids and Mine Train was her self proclaimed favorite ride.
