I need to whine.
Starting MLK day, DD came down with an awful bronchial cough that kept her home most of that week. And then DS caught it and was in the ER for croup by that Friday. Those coughs turned into nasty colds over the next week, and DS got an ear infection. And then I caught the cold last week. DS woke up puking Thursday night, that turned into massive diaper blowout after blowout, and is still going. I caught that yesterday and spent all day writhing in bed. And then both DS and DD were up in the middle of the night with diarrhea. The three of us are all home today, having a major veg and rest day. I am ready for the sick germs to go.
Okay. Vent/whine over. For reading you can have all the wine and Girl Scout cookies that I can't stomach right now.

Thanks ladies. Overwhelming is definitely the word. I don't think all the laundry will ever be done. @itsbritt, TV day indeed. We all took warm and cozy baths and showers this morning, and then climbed back in bed for ALL of the morning PBS Kids line up. DS fell asleep, and I moved the cozy nest for DD and I to the futon in the spare room. She is playing PBS kids on my computer, and I am watching Grey's on my phone. I fully intend to let them binge watch Doc McStuffins when DS wakes up.

Oh, and as the cherry on top, DD's eczema is crazy bad on her face. Combo of illness, the weather changing, and family members sneaking her dairy-filled treats at a funeral this weekend. She's a hot mess.
I'm so sorry you are dealing with all those illnesses. My kids have been sick this past week too and it's awful. Baby is finally on the mend I think but the other night I had to hold him the entire night while he whimpered. I feel a cold coming on now for myself and I'm just trying to ignore it because I have way too much going on this week to get sick.
I'm so sorry, that's a really cruddy run. We've had cold after cold after cold (and croup), and I am very ready for everyone to actually be healthy again. That's without the ER (at least as of yet) and NO PUKING (knock on wood), which are the worst parts. I can only imagine how ready you must be to get back to "normal."
Aw, thanks @vettymana. We're getting there. This tummy thing just won't quit my kids. It hit DD pretty hard yesterday morning, so I kept her home again.
Okay, but WWYguysD? She had a lot of diarrhea yesterday morning after breakfast, but it calmed down by lunch, and she was full of energy. She woke up in the middle of the night again with another round of diarrhea. But is perky this morning. She's eating breakfast now. Should I keep her home again? My worry is that she's feeling better but her tummy is still not reacting well to food. Maybe I should just wait and see how her breakfast settles? My hunch is she probably needs to stay home again, huh?
Go with your hunch. I'd probably keep her home, just in case she is contagious. What will one more day hurt?
My very fragile sanity.
But you're probably right. I'm going to keep home at least until her breakfast settles. If she's feeling good, I'll take her late. If not, home she stays.
mamaalysson, I hope you guys are on the mend soon! At least the weather is decent and maybe you guys can be outside and get fresh air. Those little ones just play a game of hot potato with germs. Keep them to yourself!
