I've been at my job 7 months and realized I really hadn't personalized it very much other than a mug I brought in. Is yours personalized? If so, what kind of things do you have to make it "your" space?
I have a mug. I like the idea I can just be gone in hot second if I wanted.
I also don't like my job much, so there is that.
That was me! I had a few sports teams memorabilia in a corner. Once shit started getting bad, I slowly started taking it home. On the day I finally walked out I just had to take my coffee mug and an apple corer.
I've got a small amount of photos and drawings from my daughter, I have only been in my job since December. Sometimes my boss will comment that the bookshelves are still bare - i think the culture is to personalize your space more than it had been at my previous position. I'll get to it...!

I've had various degrees of personal decoration at my past jobs.
When I had a semi private office I had a few plants and all of my inboxes/outboxes had personalized signs. I always have some type of water bottle and mug as well as my own mouse pad. Usually a page a day calendar with either a cat theme or crosswords for when I get bored.
My last job allowed us to decorate our desks so I used to have pictures posted until they changed our desk type. I had ribbons on my chair and microscope for identification purposes.

I have 2 pics, an alligator made out of a clothespin, and a little dinosaur bank that says Amandasaurus with something silly written on it. I figure if they ever fire me, or I get so frustrated I feel like I can't spend another minute there, I can leave pretty quickly. Throw those things in my purse, and grab my hairbrush and lip balm from my top drawer, and I'm out.
I have been with the company 5 years and our culture is to definitely personalize. I have pics of my friends, boyfriend, medals from my 2 bike races (it is sponsored by my company), a couple cute coffee mugs, water bottle, a vase of origami flowers a teammate made for me a couple years ago, a penguin painting a teammate made me, a piggy bank that I keep stocked for the vending machine for my team, and a Harry Potter wand.
Not really. I have an office and it's a disaster. The previous person had been here 16 years and I still after almost a year and a half haven't finished removing his things. I also worked for him for years so some of the stuff he left has meaning to me, but isn't my style. I'm thinking one weekend I'm going to come in and finish then finally add some of my own things.
I have a dog calendar, mugs, cactus, photos, and some small items from friends/clients from various international travels (India/Egypt). My office is actually the least personalized of everyone's and I'm constantly told I need to put things in here. I am planning a trip to India and will hopefully be able to bring something fun back. A lot of people have their diplomas and I hate that...

I don't have kids, so no kid pics/drawings for me. I don't want to bring my diploma in because my office space is kind of open where the public can see it.
I like the idea of buying or printing a nice little motivational quote. I think some flowers might be cute, too (they'd be fake...oh well!). Maybe I'll print out a serene picture from my vacation I can look at when I feel stressed out. Would it be weird if I had a picture of my cat? I kind of want one of him because his diva attitude in pictures always makes me laugh.
I have a private office. I patched and painted the walls on my own dime. I have a tree branch/flower decal, awards related to my job including flags and plaques, a mug I use as a pencil holder, two personal pictures, a pillow I use as back support, a hidden Ecard calendar, a canvas print, and two frames with travel destination pictures (you'd think they were stock photos). A few folders I recycle working on important projects are funky colors (mostly to not get lost in the shuffle). I am going to put nice contact paper under the glass on my desk. I want a new mouse pad (current is a vendor given pad with a 2013 calendar on it). I also have a nes.presso and b.rita water pitcher. I am buying a mini fridge this week. I've been at my current location since October. Only a few people per location have private offices. Everyone personalizes their work space in my company whether it be in a cube farm or private office. My last office had a broom hanging up from Halloween with the saying "emergency escape plan". It was a bit more relaxed than my current location.
I work in a cube farm. I've got a mirror, some day of the dead decorations, picture of my nephew and niece, a calendar, 16357 cups for coffee/tea/soda/water, a few plants and a few stuffed animals (horses because our company gives them to our retail customers every year so I get one). I also have a few magnets on my cube cabinet.
When I worked in a real office, my cube was semi-personalized. I had cards and photos on the wall and a few things around my monitors. There were also a few things on my counter (admin cube), but most/all of them were shit other people left, like a plant and a couple knick-knacks.
Sometimes we'd get gifts from law firms that no one really wanted to keep, but didn't want to throw away either. E.g., a vase from a Chinese law firm that we received right before the Beijing Olympics. It had each of the Olympic events depicted in Chinese and with a little stick-figure drawing of the event. It lived on my counter. Mostly it just served to get in the way/almost get knocked off the counter if someone leaned on it. Heh.
When I got divorced I had to not-so-inconspicuously change out all the photos of XH with ones of my friends, lol.
