If you have a rental I would absolutely just stop at the store. I think what you gain in terms of shopping spontaneously & saving money win. I would stop on the way from the airport, though and only go back out if you need more stuff.
New here, but just wanted to let you know that you do not need to be in your room when the groceries arrive. We had groceries delivered to a cars suite at AOA on our last trip. They will leave them at the front desk for you, but when we arrived in our room, the groceries had already been delivered by the hotel staff. I had arranged for the groceries to be delivered early on the morning of our check-in and it worked out perfectly. We didn't even have to go to the front desk to pick them up. Of course, we did not rent a car, so it would not have been easy to get to the store ourselves.
If you have a rental car, I would not order grocery delivery. It's not that hard to stop at a supermarket and buy your own food.
Yeah my husband says he doesn't mind going with the baby while I go to the pool with DD1. I'm just worried about getting the groceries to the room. Probably over thinking it.
Are you going to buy that much? I think you are over thinking it
We stopped at a Publix last week on our way to the Universal resort. It was NBD, and I say this as someone who orders grocery delivery regularly at home. I can see the appeal if you're getting in particularly late or won't have a car.
I would have them delivered. Nothing is worse than wandering the aisles of an unfamiliar grocery store with a hungry DH asking what we should buy! This happened to us on a ski trip to with my in-laws and it was just terrible because we were making dinners too. Ugh, I get annoyed just thinking about it.
We are doing delivery this time but won't have a car. Last DH and my dad took uber and it felt like they were gone forever. I felt like he missed a lot of our pool/hang out time. With a car the situation is completely different, stop on the way to the hotel.

Since you have a car I would just go to the store yourself.
We didn't have a car (or a kitchen) when we stayed at CR. I ordered the minimum to get free shipping ($30 or $40). We didn't eat everything we ordered. I gave away a whole case of water to another family at the end of our trip.
If I had my way the kids would fall asleep in the car and I'd have DH circle while I ran in to the store. Or I might even run out myself after bedtime the first night.
If you're going to have a car, I'd just stop somewhere on the way to the hotel and get groceries. There are several grocery options right outside the resort area. You're not forced to have a minimum order or pay for delivery, and you're not limited to what they'll have.
If you happen to be renting a stroller, I believe Kingdom Strollers gives you a coupon for grocery delivery. Its to a place called Orlando Grocery Express. May be worth looking at the company, even, to see if they are competitive to Garden Grocer. I haven't used either of them.
I'd get them delivered. The last thing I want to do after a day of traveling is stop at the grocery store. I'd rather use that time to explore the resort and relax by the pool. It's nice checking into the hotel with your groceries already in the room.
The delivery fee was worth the convenience. We didn't get super creative with the food mostly just drinks, breakfast food (bagels, cream cheese, microwaveable bacon, bananas), a case of beer and water and some snacks (fresh fruits and veggies, cheese sticks, yogurt, chips, dip, etc.).
