i found a new therapist and i'm so serious about her that i accepted an appointment dead in the middle of the day. she does the EMDR therapy i want to try
EMDR is the absolute best type of therapy that I have ever had. It seriously moved me forward in like 4 sessions, when 3 years of CBT therapy didn't.
What kinds of oils do you have and are you brand loyal?
I recently was given a starter kit from Young Living and it came with a diffuser and 10 oils. Other than Lavender in the diffuser to allegedly help me with anxiety I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing.
I use Young Living too. Thieves is great to diffuse this time of year because it helps with germs. Lemon you can use to make your own cleaning spray, it also helps detoxify your body. Peppermint can help with stomach issues or headaches. Frankincense is great for skin - supposedly it helps reducing wrinkles. PanAway helps with muscles pain, so if you're sore you can mix with coconut oil and rub it on the area (similar to icy hot). RC can help with coughing or respitory issues if you diffuse it. Purification can help get icky smells out if you diffuse it. You can also put it on cotton balls for stinky shoes/clothes/gym bag etc. I don't like the smell of stress away so I don't use it. There's lots of good info on the website too.
A two-levels-up supervisor who is notorious for wanting major changes to briefs just told me that one I put together "looks really good" and is "excellent- no significant comments." I'm printing the email and putting it on my fridge at home.
I didn't realize i had a snake phobia until I moved here. I kept asking J while we were hiking yesterday if there could be snakes by the cactuses, in the holes, anywhere, haha. SNAKES.

I had the rudest electrian just come to my house to do a quote. We are nearing the tail end of what ended up being pretty much a gut renovation and it's absolute shambles, and then the electrician came in and made a few comments about what a mess it was, then when my dog came downstairs I told him to sit and the guy literally grimaced and said, "I don't think he wants to sit on that floor." Thanks dude, you can leave now.

I'm mainly starting this so I can brag about my delicious breakfast sandwich this morning, made with my brand new, easy to both use and clean, Hamilton Beach breakfast sandwich maker. I'm in love.
What did you put in the sandwich? My mil got me one for Christmas last year, I had just stared having morning sickness around that time and food aversions, mainly grossed out by eggs. I can't wait to try it out. Was it easy to use?
Just a regular McMuffin- English muffin, cheese, Canadian bacon, egg white. H subbed a pre-cooked sausage patty for the Canadian bacon. It was so easy. About 3 minutes to let it heat up, throw everything in there, cook for 4-5 minutes.
I already made a separate angry post about it, but I hate my fucking asshole neighbors.
I don't know how to get my DD's hair cut. We are both due for haircuts. Hers always, always, always looks like she was doing spinning headstands while sleeping and also like I haven't washed her hair in three weeks, despite me using shampoo and conditioner on her hair, and even after I brush it. I kind of want to chop a bunch of it off, but my mom did that to me as a kid and I hated it. But now I kind of get why she did it.
My husband was laid off from his job effective 2/19. He's known about this for a month and has applied for multiple jobs. He went on an interview today and they called him back a few hours later and offered a job.
I'm so relieved and happy. The commute is about an hour each way, which is a lot, but we will figure it out. We just have to come up with a good plan for picking up DS from school.
Number of hours I was home with my kid for a snow day: 11. Times I had to direct his hands out of his pants/off his penis: 1,111,000. Why? WHHHHYYYYYYY? Wasn't someone just asking about this? I swear to god, it's the closest thing he's ever had to a comfort item.
Ugh! I just found the perfect coffee table on fb for only $10 and this fucking woman who stalks fb all.day.long looking for cheap or free furniture to paint and distress is already picking it up. Yes, i realize how stupid this sounds, but I'm so sick of her! Every time I see something I like, oh look, Marcie's picking it up, what else is new. It will be on there in a few days for $200.
This is totally irrational, I'm just so tired of seeing her everywhere.

I was in classrooms today with the juniors doing ACT preadministration.
I LOVED interacting with the kids. I can't wait until next year when I get to do it more often. I think it helped that the teacher whose class I went into is a great teacher and has a good relationship with her kids, so they really respect her and in turn were super easy to work with. Either way, I had a good time. I go back tomorrow for the even classes. I'm actually excited.
Mannnnnn, I just got the last StitchFix box I'm going to get (because it used the last $17 of my gift certificate) and I really love three fucking things in it to the tune of $194. MOTHERFUCKER.

Fucking Marcie!!!!
I know! Lol.
No, really. I know how ridiculous I sound. She's just always there. Maybe I get so irritated because I hate the distressed look, and she does it with every piece of furniture she sells.
YOU ARE RUINING PERFECTLY GOOD FURNITURE WITH YOUR DISTRESSING, MARCIE!
I'm pretty sure ds is getting sick again. We just got the faucet that is his nose under control a couple days ago and now it's starting back up again. He never actually got rid of his cough, and now it's more productive.
I can't decide if it's allergies or the cold that won't die so I'm going to try allergy meds daily for a while and see if that helps. It didn't seem to help today, but he hasn't had any in a couple months so maybe he needs more than one dose.
If it does help, I'm wondering if I should take him for allergy testing. It doesn't seem to bother him, but I've gone through probably 5 packs of wipes (we use those instead of kleenex, it's easier on his poor little nose) in like 2 months.
My teen told me today that even though we fight sometimes she thinks I am awesome and she hopes she can be independent and strong like me someday... except she wants a husband. Lol.
This is huge since most of our conversations revolve around how adults are idiots. Mostly with me playing the lead role of the adult/idiot.

PIP??
Nothing photographs well in my shitty little hallway, but you'll just have to trust me that everything is super comfortable and looks good, lol. The pants are a dark gray stretchy straight leg, the striped top is an amazing stretchy jersey material and the detail at the collar is leather or fake leather, and the crochet sweater is navy and just the right amount of warmth for spring and summer evenings in Charleston. (Oh and please ignore my sweatpants in the pictures of the tops, lol)

LOVE the navy sweater! I keep hearing such great things about stitch fix, the temptation is building!!
This is my third box, I've kept one thing from each of the previous boxes. One shirt I am iffy about after almost wearing it to work one day. The buttons pop open with too much movement which I didn't notice when I initially tried it on. A coworker is going to sew the buttonholes closed a bit for me. But the blazer I kept from the second box I wear once a week, probably.
This is has been the best box. There were also some distressed white skinny jeans that were just a bit too baggy around the calves, they looked sloppy, but were a style I really liked.
The pieces are NOT cheap, it's beyond what I would spend if I didn't have the credit. Well, clearly I'm considering spending it now that I have them, but I wouldn't go looking for $98 jeans or $58 tops.
My husband is fucking grating on me right now. He just returned from a week frolicking in the Irish fucking hills with his dad last night while I stayed with our 3 kids. Which was fine. And then the little guy got some nasty cold/fever thing and was snotting and coughing all over me. Which was also fine. He worked from home today. Still fine. But then I come home feeling like the cold from hell hit me like a ton of bricks. And our nanny is still here. And he's lying in bed watching a movie. Starting not to be fine. Asks me what the fuck is for dinner. Not fine. I gave him the look and climbed into bed. I just intercommed downstairs to see if we have cold medicine downstairs and the kids are still fucking awake. I'm fucking pissed.
