We will be arriving in Orlando on a Sunday afternoon, and staying until the following Saturday, so we don't plan on purchasing park tickets for the day we arrive. We are staying at BLT and I'm trying to decide where to make a dining reservation for that first night. At first I thought we should do Chef Mickeys, but now that I think about it more maybe it makes more sense to go eat somewhere on a different property or in Disney Springs that night because we will have more time. Any suggestions?
Adding a day to your tickets might be super cheap. If you get in early enough look at Ohana, 1900 PF or the HDDR for dinner. The HDDR is sooooo convienent from BLT. Just hop on the boat from BLT to the fort. You can go back either via the MK boat or the Contemporary boat.Soooo convienent.

We won't have a car, and this is the first time any of us have been to Disneyworld. (Well, I went as a kid but it's been over 25 years). We haven't purchased our plane tickets yet but it looks like we'll get in around two.

I would probably stick to something on the monorail since you will not have a car. Our flight landed around 2 and we did have a car. Our room was not ready when we arrived and that added some stress to the situation but I was glad we did not plan to go far for dinner. We had dinner at The Wave and I thought that worked out well.

I definitely would not go to Disney Springs in this situation, I'd go to MK or a monorail resort for dinner. I hope you have a great trip!!

With young kids, we like to start the trip off with a character meal (like Chef Mickeys). If you don't want to do a character meal, then definitely something like Ohana or Kona Cafe at the Polynesian.
I think Ohanas or chef Mickey's would be the perfect start to the trip complete w/ w loop on the monorail maybe even catch the electrical water pageant if it's to too late for your crew.
With kids that young on a travel day I would grab some counter service & head to the pool for the afternoon & get settled into your room & resort. It always takes me more time than I think it will to get settled & pick up my stroller. & get my groceries & things.

I would probably stay around MK and the monorail, just because usually I am exhausted after a long day of traveling. Disney Springs is a decent bus ride from BLT and I wouldn't want to deal with that after traveling. I think a character meal sounds like a great way to kick off a Disney trip!
